Most of us can only dream of a private beach getaway. Fortunately, Southeast Asia is dotted with beaches that are quiet and perfect for a relaxing weekend.

Best part is, such a holiday need not be expensive at all. With AirAsia’s latest Free Seats promo, you can spend less on flight tickets and more on yourself.

Note: Free Seats means that the base fare is zero, so tickets come up to just S$50 after airport and processing fees.

1. Natai Beach: Paradise in Phuket

Phuket’s popularity means finding a secluded beach is a tough task. But fret not, because Natai Beach is here to be your own little paradise in Phuket.

40 minutes away from the airport, the area houses private bungalows that go for S$137/night.

But if your year-end bonus was fantastic, splurge on a grand villa that could set you back up to  S$1,000/night.

2. Diamond Beach: A different side to Bali

Bali is the go-to destination for beachgoers but nearby islands are perfect for those hankering for a quieter getaway.

Our favourite is Nusa Penida. Trek to the island’s southwestern coast and head down the limestone stairs to enjoy a view of Diamond Beach. Stunning, we know.

From atop the stairs, a glorious view of the white cliffs and turquoise waters await.

A 45-minute boat ride from Bali brings you to Nusa Penida. While there aren’t hotels along Diamond Beach, Nusa Penida offers several resorts, like the stylish La Roja Bungalows ($93/night).

3. Phra Nang Beach: Seclusion in Krabi

Krabi brings to mind overcrowded beaches and tourist traps. But the city’s Railay Beach is a far cry from this.

Lush vegetation and majestic limestone cliffs separates Railay from Krabi, giving the beach an unmatched sense of privacy.

So much so that it can only be accessed by a long-tail boat ($4).

Bask in the sun while lying on the powdery soft sand, soaking in the calm surroundings.

4. Aloguinsan: Cebu’s best-kept secret

One of Cebu’s best beaches, Aloguinsan, is just 2 hours away from the airport.

To get there, take a bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal to Aloguinsan Public Market for $5.50 and then take a motorcycle with a sidecar or “habal-habal” for S$2 to the beach.

The more adventurous can set up a tent on the beach for about $8 overnight. Remember to bring your own tent for the ultimate glamping experience.

If the heat gets to you, head to the Hidden Beach Resort’s ($24/night) comfortable ACrooms.

5. Pulau Dayang Bunting: Langkawi with a twist

Can’t get enough of Langkawi’s duty-free status but tired of the crowds? Your solution is Langkawi’s second largest island, Pulau Dayang Bunting.

The island’s centrepiece is a large freshwater lake, perfect for swimming and other water activities.

Get a buddy to sit with you by the edge of the lake and recreate that memorable Crazy Rich Asians scene where Nick showed Collin the ring he wanted to propose with.

You can’t stay on Pulau Dayang Bunting, so you’ll have to brave the Langkawi crowds at night.
