This New Bathhouse In Dempsey Has Thermal Baths, Cold Plunges & Ambient Soundscapes

Nowhere Baths in Dempsey, Singapore

We have our fair share of onsen spas in Singapore, but those looking for somewhere a bit more private can opt for the newly opened Nowhere Baths in Dempsey. If you’re looking to slow down, this communal bathhouse is the perfect place to do it – it’s a dreamy sanctuary all about *bathing* and embracing the spirit of R&R.

What to expect at Nowhere Baths?

Designed with softly rounded finishes and warm ambient lighting, Nowhere Baths is not your regular bathhouse. It’s a contemporary twist on communal bath culture, inspired by the restorative and regenerative process of washing, where you are encouraged to strip everything away. The focus is on the meditative qualities of the bathing ritual, so you can feel clean on the inside and out and emerge fully refreshed.

If you’re a naturally shy bather, there’s no need to feel paiseh – visitors are to have swimwear on in all shared areas, as it is a gender-neutral space. Handphones and recording devices are also forbidden in order to protect your privacy.

Plus, there are women-only sessions on Mondays, so the ladies can enjoy the serenity of the place in complete comfort and peace.

Warmed to temperatures of 40°C, there are 2 types of hot pools at Nowhere Baths – their Epsom Salt Bath and Cloud Bath. The Epsom Salt Bath relaxes and loosens your muscles, while the Cloud Bath uses nanobubble technology to gently exfoliate, cleanse, and rejuvenate. Depending on what you’re looking for, feel free to pick between the two, or take a dip in both if you want to reap all the benefits.

While you soak, take in the view of the natural fauna from the windows scattered throughout the premises.

Sauna & steam rooms

Head to the roomy Sauna and Steam Rooms in between your baths to sweat out all your toxins. The dry sauna reaches temperatures between 85°C and 90°C, working its steady high heat and low humidity to relieve tension and boost circulation. On the other hand, the steam room is set to a toasty 42°C-45°C, where the lower heat and higher humidity will alleviate aches, clearing the mind and senses.

Cold plunge & bucket showers

Tucked into cave-like alcoves, you’ll also want to punctuate each session of heat with revitalising cold dips. At 13°C, the Cold Plunge pool is invigorating and refreshing, ideal for fortifying immunity and speeding up muscle recovery. Otherwise, you can opt for a bucket shower for a quicker momentary splash of cold water if you can’t tahan the cold for too long.
