Dan Ryan's was created in Hong Kong in 1989 and currently there are five Dan Ryan's restaurants in operation in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
Dan Ryan's offers authentic American steaks, ribs, sandwiches and salads in a friendly, lively and upscale atmosphere. Dan Ryan's operating mission is to serve consistently genuine American good to a standard exactly as one might expect in big city restaurants across the United States.
Taking inspiration from a 1940's Chicago bar and grill, Dan Ryan's features period music, vintage light fixtures and posters, an antique train circling above the bar, and an artist's mural depicting vintage Chicago night life.

authentic American fare worth travelling for
Dan Ryan’s has always been my go-to for authentic American food and a good slab of baby back ribs. The restaurant is dimly lit and roomy, and their menu proclaims “WARNING! We serve American portions”. I love the chill, pub-like vibes there, and the staff are always welcoming and helpful.
If you’re a first-timer there, I would highly recommend you start off with their Potato Skins ($12), baked with cheese and bacon bits. The oily and savoury skins are served with sour cream, which enhances its flavour and makes it all the more appetising. For mains, they’re best known for their ribs, steaks and burgers but they do offer a decent selection of pastas and seafood. I adore their Baby Back Ribs ($28/half slab) - they’re tender and very well marinated, while their BBQ sauce is rich and tangy. All their dishes are pretty big, so pace yourself.
I can’t recommend Dan Ryan’s enough. There’s only ever been one outlet in the whole of Singapore, but it’s definitely worth the trip down if you’re in the mood for some great American fare.
