Gimme my meat fix!
A girl’s gotta get her meat fix, and for me I get mine from Black Angus! Located within Orchard Parade Hotel is this steakhouse which serves huge portions at relatively affordable prices. Not to be missed are their set lunches served from Monday-Saturday from 11am-2.30pm.
The set lunch comes with soup, main course, dessert, and a drink. Personally I always order their Prime Rib of Beef as it’s a large slab of meat that comes with a heavenly sauce at the side. I think it’s the beef essence that drips out as the beef cooks! Their Stuart’s steak soup that has small chunks of beef broiled with barley and corn and all-things-good in a thick broth is also a must-try!
If you’re looking for a place which serves American-sized portions without hurting your wallet too much, this is it guys!
Dutch maids for you boys
If you're looking for great steak, Angus, located at nee ann city is the place you should be at! The place screams European and great steak! Every choice of steak cut is available from, prime steak, tenderloin, sirloin, rib eye. The sauce is simple and doesn't over power the meat which is the key player in the course.
The meat was served with the waitor pushing out a trolley of a huge chunk of meat covered with a silver cover and he would cut out your steak cut right in front of you. The minute he lifted the cover, the smell of roasted beef permeated the restaurant.
The unique factor about this restaurant is that they hired foreign talent to be dressed as dutch maids to serve you. This is probably is the reason why more than half their customers were Caucasians.
Decently priced steak
The Black Angus that I tried was actually located within Ngee Ann City, just a few stores away from where Crystal Jade La Mian is positioned.
It's definitely a place for the boys who like their meat, so if you're looking for some good steak, this is a place that you gotta try. Mains come with a choice of a soup/coleslaw/salad as well as a serving of a potato variation - fries/baked/mash. The servings are generous, so this isn't a place for dainty eaters, neither is it a good idea for a first date - you wouldn't want to witness each other gorging yourselves to death.
I've only ever had the Wagyu beef - a pretty small cut, but decent enough to fill you up - the appetizers more than make up for the space left in your stomach. If you're looking for something that will give you more value for money, try the Sirloin Steak + Prime Ribs .. I witnessed plates of that coming out of the kitchen, and boy, did it look hearty.
