Red Shield Industries Family Thrift Stores Hot
The Red Shield Industries (RSI) Family Thrift Stores are a social enterprise as well as a serving ministry. The Salvation Army receives donations-in-kind from the public and companies. In turn, RSI resells them at affordable costs through its network of Family Thrift Stores. The income generated supports Salvation Army social and community programmes.
Jobs are created through the RSI work-therapy programmes for under-privileged people. The work helps them to earn a living and gain useful employment experience so they can be reintegrated into society.
RSI is also active in fundraising, receiving generous support from many organisations by way of donations or the offer of premises to hold bazaars for the purpose of carrying out mass-collection exercises.

Thrift shopping is one of my favourite things to do with my girlfriends. We love the thrill of finding hidden treasures among heaps of old clothes, and the best part is the price – I once scored a practically brand new handbag at just $3! Now, thrft shopping in Singapore is nothing like in the US – thrift shops here are far and few between, and it’s pretty difficult to find really vintage pieces.
My friends and I found out about the Praiseheaven Family Thrift Store while looking for places to go thrifting at, and we decided to drop by after school. I was very impressed with the place – it was clean, spacious and air-conditioned, which made shopping very enjoyable. In addition, the store assistants were friendly and helpful, and were very generous with discounts.
I also had really great finds! I got my $3 handbag here, and my friend found an awesome beige blazer for less than $10! Definitely a great thrift shopping place to try out!
