Isn't exactly a paradise of things to wear under the sun!
Recently, my niece discovered that she had a soft spot for any water featured items, especially the pools. She overgrew her baby swimsuit. It was time to scour Singapore in search for a new one that fits and isn't a bore to the eyes. We chanced upon Sun Paradise at Raffles City.
The swimsuit sold there isn't bad at first glance. The padding was terrifically in place. Unfortunately, the designs of the swimsuits sold there screamed '"Ordinary!". I was neither amazed nor impressed by the tiny array of designs available there. The sections for teens and adults weren't any better either.
However, it was sewn perfectly. The quality of the material was applaudable too. Definitely deserve a nod for anyone seeking for quality. Alas, Sun Paradise isn't as radiant if one who is seeking designs that are runway worthy. Designs that would make millions go goo goo and gaga over when I am strutting anywhere under the sun. That was Sun Paradise's absent factor!
The variety of swimming equipment is limited.
If you noticed, the prices of the swimwear and swimming equipment here are slightly more expensive than those retailed at other sports shops, hence if you know what you want, it would be more advisable to visit other sports shops like Royal Sporting House (for speedo) or World of Sports (for TYR) for the same apparel at a substantially cheaper price. This may be because Sun Paradise a niche shop catering to your every swimming need.
However, upon closer scrutiny, it does not do a good job as a niche shop as its range of swimming equipment is embarrassingly limited. I'll give it credit for its good range of swim wear, from full body suits to pullover tops and bottoms of different lengths for ladies. However, the branch in Jurong Point does not offer a good range of equipment. I couldn't find any flippers, only a few sizes of hand paddles were in stock. The types of ear plugs, goggles and whatnots available were also way too meagre for it to call itself a niche swim shop.
When I was looking for new swim wear for my children, I especially came to this shop. I knew they had a large collections of swim wear. I had went to a few department stores before coming here but most of the department stores only have limited selections of swim wear.
When I was in the shop, I was glad that I was not wrong, they actually had enough selections. I was looking for full suit thermal swim wear and they actually had a few designs. Other than swim wear, they also sold goggles and floats.
I think the best part was the staff was really helpful and patient. Children being children, they were not able to make up their mind on what they want so we were in the shop for quite a while but the staff was still patient with them.
