First Impression Counts
I went to Jurong Point with my girlfriend today to pick up my first digital graphic tablet. A Wacom Intuos5 Touch medium sized tablet. Considering this to be my first important work tablet which I will undoubtedly caress it fifteen times a day, I was a little bit nervous.
I went to check a few PC outlets that sell digital products but unfortunately my particular tablet model was out of stock. I was little disappointed to be honest and I gave up looking for it and decided to buy it another day. But before making that terribly dumb-witted decision, my girlfriend calmly asked "What about this one?" As I look up to the outlet's name, I asked myself "What kind of name is that?" Being the usual cynical moron that I am, I often judge and criticise just about anything at first glance.
When I entered the store, the first thing I noticed is that it had an incredibly huge selection of computer accessories. Products are neatly cataloged into an archive of individual sections or categories. Upon spotting my tablet under the Promotions section, I was delighted to see my tablet model sitting proudly on the shelf. I asked a staff to aid me in getting the specific model that I want and to have a few questions answered. To my surprise, the staff was confident and polite and even helped carried the Wacom tablet all the way to the counter to queue alongside with me. From there, I greeted the cashier to pay for my precious Intuos5 and again to my surprise, the staff packed my order with an intense amount of care and focus. As this is a very big and expensive piece of tech, I would be very cautious with handling such a package and I am very thankful and appreciative for their genuine sincerity and effort.
After receiving my receipt and tablet, I left the store with a wide smile on my face. At the end of the day, first impressions are always the most vital expectations from a customer, especially for a person like me. And boy, did Digital Style gave me an unforgettably satisfying first impression.
