Another one of the locations that is categorised under the central region of Singapore, Bishan has been a home for many people, consisting of primarily housing estates in the vicinity. Bishan is also known for its mall in the area, Junction 8, which is situated just next to the Bishan Stadium.
Bishan is also home to many tuition centres that are located in HDB Bomb shelters just below the HDB flats.

I love this neighbourhood!
With famous schools in the area such as Raffles Institution and Catholic High, a library, mall, sports stadium, numerous hawker centres and HDB flats, Bishan is easily one of the most bustling neighbourhoods in Singapore. The area is also extremely accessible - with bus stops spotted every 300m and Junction8 located right at the entrance/ exit of the MRT, which is one of the reasons why a lazy bum like me loves visiting Bishan.
I study at Raffles Institution and every day after school, I would religiously head to S11 hawker centre to get my chicken rice fix then head to Bishan library to mug. Walking from my school to j8 only takes 10 minutes and walking to Bishan library from j8 only takes 5 minutes, how much more accessible can it get?
Bishan is also a good place for families to head to during the weekends as j8 has a cinema at its top floor and there are restaurants such as Ding Tai Fung and Nandos for families to indulge in. The sky garden (my favourite part of Bishan) also allows families to have picnics and enjoy each other’s company. I love this place!
