The Wine Company Hot
As long-time wine lovers, The Wine Company had thought it a good idea to bring in some cases of wines for ourselves, and then sell some by the way. The initial idea was to create a cellar-door concept, where people could buy wines, try them and sit around and chat. Soon, they found themselves bustling around serving wine, making more friends, laugh, and then adding more finger food as requests for food poured in.

I felt so wonderful
I love this place! I am so grateful that I was introduced to this awesome place for chill-outs and also, birthday celebrations.
The service was fabulous as the waitresses helped us along with an impromptu surprise birthday celebration even though they were busy with other customers. What left me a deep and good impression was that the staffs actually sang the birthday song with us, as though we had this planned a long time ago.
I felt so welcomed by this group of staffs and I will certainly bring my family there for future celebrations as the ambience is incomparable to other places that I have been to.
A wonderful find on Dempsey Hill
The first time I went to The Wine Company was to celebrate my birthday, and when we got there, everyone dining with me was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the food was. Given both the ambience and location of the eatery (Dempsey Hill), you would think the prices to be much higher than that.
The staffs are knowledgeable with their wines, and give good recommendations. While the mains were also very appetizing. I had a seafood marinara linguine ($18), which thoroughly filled me up. When my dessert was served (a chocolate molten lava cake for $12), they even added a candle for me. That really surprised me, as we only mentioned it was my birthday at the beginning while ordering.
Since then, we have even booked the whole place for my mother’s birthday. It is a very cozy eatery, a lovely place to relax and celebrate special occasions.
Affordable wine and good place to chill
Tucked away at Dempsey Road, this is a great place to retreat to and get away from the hectic city life. However avoid weekends if you can as it tends to get too crowded. Beware of mosquitoes if you choose to sit outside. They have an extensive list of wines to choose from especially if you are a fan of South African wines, You do not have to be a wine connoisseur to decipher the types of wine. Instead there is a brief write up of the wine like it's taste, aroma and where it's produced. Alternatively ask the waiter for a recommendation. Personally I like the German Rieslings, particularly the "lychee wine" - go ahead ask the waiter and they'll know what you are referring to. What's more, parking around the area is free!
