Budget cars but not budget service
Every couple of months, I will take the family car down for regular servicing at Komoco Motors as it is the place the car was bought from. I guess by now most people would know that Korean cars tend to come with a relatively lower price tag as less frills are offered in the car. With that in mind, I am aware that I should not expect over the top service.
While Komoco has not disappointed with its friendly service and efficient maintenance work, I felt that its service center was a tad dull and boring. During instances where I stayed at their premises to wait for a small repair job, I found little or no entertainment options to keep me occupied.
Service here isn't bad at all, its just that more needs to be done to make servicing a car here less mundane and boring.
My first car bought here
My first car was an Atos. A cute little yellow manual gear car. You won't see it on the road anymore, at least I had not see one for many years. At that time, Korean car was still not that popular and may be because of that, their sales staff gave me the impression that they could not care less. They may have a lot of visitors and people requesting for test drive but very few customers.
Their after sales service was also not very memorable. I only drove the car for less than three years. Their winning point is their price but since the increase of COE prices, people are having second thoughts on value. Is it worthwhile to pay for a car with more than half the price going to the COE?
Service is only as good as their people
I came to Komoco in 2005 to buy a Trajet. I was served by Nazri Nasir, the soccer player no less and we came to a deal pretty quickly. Nazri was able to work out a financing plan that suited us rather quickly and the whole deal was amicable and without fuss.
I come to this conclusion that in the service and sales industry, the quality of your service is only as good as your people and I thought that I was lucky to had been served by Nazri that day.
I came back to Komoco for servicing for a while and after that it was off to my own workshop.
