Scammers!! Everyone PLEASE BEWARE!
Please beware of then! They scammed me of $50! They said the same thing about the foot detox spa when I went there (bought same deal as guanyu)!
I wanted to buy a 6 months package for my mum (massage + foot detox) last year after they claimed that it's on promotion, but the cost was pretty steep and I said I can't afford. The owner Kenny and his wife (I think she is PRC, very pretty lady) were very insistent and me being the stupid naive girl I was, I caved in when they said that I can pay a deposit to confirm OR if I really change my mind it's ok, he will REFUND ME.
After messaging him via sms several times and CALLING them several times, they REFUSE to refund me, claiming that there was "no such transaction or records". It's been over a year and I still remember because they recently sent me a sms "Celebrate 9th Mother's Day on 12 May. Bring your mother. Free food, gift & flowers!"
Don't try the Bio-Detox Foot Spa!!!
Recently bought their voucher from deal.com.sg for a couple massage cum foot detox spa for $48. The massage was not bad although pretty hard and not as relaxing as I thought. After the 60-min massage, we went for the foot detox spa for 30 mins. During that time, one of the majority shareholders, Kenny Chea came over to talk to us, well actually he was doing his sales pitch on the merits of the detox spa. Style of sales talk is quite similar to what have been taught at Success Resources by T Harv Eker in order to influence the consumer to purchase their spa packages. To put it bluntly, he was using a mixture of personal story anecdotes, lots of self-promotion and a combination of psychology, philosophy and NLP. The modern version of a snake oil salesman, so to speak.
Found out later from the internet that the Kemi Bio-Detox Foot spa is a hogwash! In fact, labelled as scam by some because it is totally useless as a detoxification method since, according to medical professionals and modern physiology study, toxins cannot be released through the pores of the feet as claimed by Kenny. If you guys are interested to find out more, you can read this article:
While I'll rate the massage as 6/10 and the staff is generally friendly, the foot detox spa spoiled the whole experience. As much as Kemi Wellness Spa tried to position themselves as a family-oriented spa on the surface, the fact that they provide such a dodgy service (foot detox spa) makes me wonder whether they are doing it to get a grant from the government rather than sincerely care about their customers' welfare. Looks like a lot of old folks have been taken for a ride!
Not for the weak hearts or minds
I bought their deal promotion and it was totally misleading. It stated that there are 5 different services and it could be used at different time. In reality, it is really just one session of the foot massage and detox session.
The selling point was the ionized detox machine that produces some residues in the super hot water you have to soak your feet in. Following the soak, the therapist will provide you a diagnosis of your current health status. This is where the scare tactic comes in. My hubby bought a package at $988 and was somehow convinced to pay $1000 for future upgrade opportunity. I told the boss later that we do not wish to upgrade and wanted the difference paid to be refunded. Guess what? No you cannot do that. Not a new trick in the service industry but I resent the fact that we need to buy something more than the refund value.
Value for money? I did 9 sessions, regardless what my health report says, the water colour is always the same. The service crew loves to talk, if you want to sneak away from office to nap a little when enjoying your foot spa, this is not your place.
