K Suites, a classy yet affordable place. Affordable yes, only for the student promotion though. Otherwise, it would not be worth it on other days, especially Fridays and weekends. For S$12 on weekdays, you get 3 hours of singing and a glass of drink.
I usually call in advance to make a booking to get my desired timing. Otherwise the chances of going down and expect a room would be slim. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment time and let the counter staff know. Flash your student card, choose your drink and make payment. Most of the time I am there, I will go for lemon honey as it is supposed to soothe your throat, three hours of singing is no joke.
Upon entering the room, you will realize that it is cold. Super, if I forgot to mention. On top of your cardigan or sweater, they provide blankets too. The system there is one of the better ones compared to the rest. There are different types of rooms and depending on the number of people you go with as well as the availability of rooms. For 2-3 pax, they will usually get you the one with the sofa. I went with a group of 4 and got the room with this huge bed, probably bigger than the king size. While walking past the other rooms, I saw some other rooms with pool tables as well.
This deal is however only valid till 7 P.M. Gather 5 friends (with student card) and get a free bowl of food/snack. The portion is reasonable. One more thing to note would be the walls, I realized that are not too soundproof. It is either that or my friends sang too loudly, could hear them all the way from the door! Other than that, it was a good experience and I will be back.
I went to K Suites with some friends once and their looks high class and it is affordable (although there are some which are more affordable out there). We had no trouble choosing and picking songs and the sound system is as great as any others out there. Of course, there are also other effects like audience clapping, cheering and auto-tune which is always fun to play with. We were also given complimentary plate of potato chips and the room itself is alright, not say very small and not say very spacious.
I would recommend K Suites to friends, family and couples but if you want something more affordable, there are some others out there with very competitive prices.
I've been to many karaoke places and honestly K Suites is one of the best amongst all the rest. I have a karaoke buddy that would back me up on this!
Note: I'll be talking about their Special Student's Deal.
First off, it's really affordable, $12 for 3 hours on weekdays plus free drinks plus free food if you bring 4 other friends?? AWESOME. (It's $10 previously but I guess they increased the price since more people came to know about this deal; LET'S HOPE THEY DON'T INCREASE IT ANY FURTHER)
Also, the place is super comfortable with cushions and long, soft couches. The dimmed lights made it super homely, but I was honestly a little annoyed in the beginning because I have quite a bad case of night blindness. Otherwise, it was a great experience!
Have I mentioned the sound system? Because it's GREAT. Every time I mention going for karaoke sessions, my friend who works as a sound engineer teases me for finding pleasure in singing with crazy reverb mics (a.k.a. super echo-ish mics). However, this place would prove him wrong because the system is unlike any other, it's as good as singing for a live gig, maybe even better. (Trust me on this, I've done some gigs before!) This place even helps me emulate the clubbing feel when I sing EDM songs like "Stay The Night" haha!
Overall, this place has become my new favourite place to hang out after school to chill out and have some fun. Some tips though:
1. IT'S DAMN COLD PLEASE BRING YOUR OUTERWEAR.
2. Go to the washroom before going in, so you don't have to waste your time going to the toilet halfway through.
3. GO THERE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, best before 4pm, or call and make reservations. This is to prevent being told that all the rooms are fully booked and to be sent away!
K Suites is one of the places that my friends and I hang out after a whirlwind of tough examinations and assessments. As students, we get the deal of $10 for 3 hours, which is really great since we can't usually afford the normal rates of Karaoke sessions, or at least, not as a regular thing.
Bigger groups (five and above) are offered complimentary food, so do go there with more people! Everyone receives a free drink as long as they purchase the student discount set.
The place itself is actually quite homey, with blankets and pillows and long, comfortable couches that I would've slept on if it weren't for the fact that I was paying for my time there! Also, they do offer quite a huge range of songs along with many options for different selections of how you'd like to sing the song!
On the whole, I just really enjoy going there to relieve stress, and I think it's a place that offers great service, great entertainment, at great prices!
K Suites is the best karaoke ever!! I am not even exaggerating.
1. It is real comfy. The sofa is like a bed and there's even blankets and bedroom slippers.
2. The sound system is one of the best out there.
3. They have almost every song you want and their system works touch screen, you can also write the words of the song title in(convenient especially for non-english).
4. They also have this few buttons you can make applause, cheering, whistling sounds which is really fun.
5. You can up key/down key to your own comfortable range.
6. The drinks and snacks are of acceptable size.
7. The staff are considerate. You order your drinks and pay before you go into the room and they send the drinks in quick so they don't disrupt your singing session.
8. IT IS SO CHEAP. Student price $10 for three hours. Everything they have is perfect and I don't understand why it is so cheap. Ever since I went there, I refuse to go anywhere else for my karaoke sessions.
Where else can you find karaoke this perfect?!
K-suites has really impressed me with its great facilities and service.
I wanted to sing karaoke with my friends, and was pleasantly surprised by K-suites student promotion, where we get to sing for 3 hours for just $10, including drinks. It’s a very attractive deal, so I highly recommend it!
What really impressed me was K-suites’ attention to detail. Our room included blankets, for in case we got cold (which we did, the air conditioner was really strong!) In addition, the room had two TV screens, with one placed higher on the wall than the other. I heard from my friend that this was to allow patrons to lie down and still be able to see the lyrics on the screen!
The service at K-suites was superb. Our drinks came quickly, and the staff was really friendly and polite. At one point, we needed help with our song selection, as the pictures of the artistes could not be viewed. When we asked for help via the phone provided in the room, the manager immediately came to assist us!
My experience at K-suites was really good, and I will definitely come back again!
My karaoke rule: if they can't hear you outside the room, you're not loud enough. Obviously, I'm a firm believer in karaoke being chicken soup for the soul. Which is why, when I stumbled upon KSuites online, I got insanely excited. And here I'm talking about their student offer: $10 ($15 on weekends) for 3h, plus a free drink? H-h-h-h-hold up, check it out!
Of course, the deal has a fixed daily time frame. Each room is fitted with a comfy sofa, cushions, even blankets! There are two screens lined up vertically, which might seem unnecessary, but I've actually found the angle of the top screen helpful when I'm jumping around on the couch (don't ask). There's also a computer (mounted on a movable rod, it swings!), WiFi provided.
Song selection is relatively easy, as are adjustments to simple controls. Their database is pretty extensive and updated, but sometimes it might be hard to find a song you want even if it's there. A singer might be listed more than once under different names as separate singers, especially when it comes to foreign languages.
After bringing in your drinks, the staff pretty much leave you alone so you're free to go crazy and forget yourself for the next few hours. They tactfully don't say a thing even when they happen to glance in through the little window while you're (completely failing at) dancing to Single Ladies. Yup, I love KSuites.
I'd recommend it for students only, though, unless you want to indulge or make use of one of their other deals. Once I no longer hold claim to the student deal, I'll probably have to move on to cheaper, less luxurious alternatives like Temasek Club.
I only ever went to K Suites once, but it was a good experience. I went with my friends after school, and the price was pretty cheap for the services they provided.
The place had a very "atas", or posh feel and perhaps because of the time we went at (it was a Wednesday afternoon), it was pretty empty. The comfort level was superb, and even though we did not have a lot of space, the three of us still had a great time singing our lungs out. They have a reasonably good choice of songs, which is important because it was after all a karaoke venue. I don’t think that the doors were sound-proof enough though, because it was extremely noisy outside. I think good sound-proof doors are important because one might get embarrassed or embarrassed by bad singing, be it by oneself or others. K Suites is pretty much an upgraded, more posh version of Kbox, like if Kbox targeted students, K Suites targeted university students and up.
I went to K Suites once as they were having a great offer of only $8 for a room for any amount of hours, as long as we each ordered something to eat. At that time it was newly opened and it was certainly a great experience indeed.
The room itself was very well-furnished and designed; if there was one word to describe it, it would simply be "high-class". They had a electronic device system like an iPad to select the songs we wanted, and it was very easy to use.
The songs offered were almost infinite, updated with all the latest songs, we did not stop to select songs at all as we found ourselves clicking away at everything.
The screen was big and clear, along with its good sound system that had clarity and optimum volume.
On top of everything, they had a computer stationed in the room for your own browsing, completely complimentary (and the Internet was fast!). It was simply the cherry on top of the cupcake.
The experience was truly one of the best. Even the food was good (which is uncommon for karaoke joints), as they served some pretty good chicken wings from what I recall.
However, I think the usual prices are quite steep, but if you are looking for a karaoke that offers you the best experience ever, I can safely say that K Suites will not disappoint.
