Sanpoutei has been serving up classic Shoyu ramen in Niigata since 1967, and the Singapore branch continues this tradition by importing Japanese produce just to make their stock.

Aburi char siew should be mandatory for everybody
I am a fan of anything that’s aburi. Aburi anything = good. Sanpoutei’s is a ramen restaurant that specializes in aburi pork, so I had to give it a try. It did not disappoint.
The aburi tontoro pork is cooked fresh and done just right, giving it the BBQ smell without charging it. Each bite of the tender meat is just sensational, it just melts in your mouth, leaving you yearning for more. You won’t be able to stop until it's all gone.
They have four broths available, and I like all of them except for the Rich Tori x Miso Ramen, where they go overboard with the vegetables. The miso they use here can also be a little grainy.
