Ice cream clumps in drink
Well.. for a shop labeled 'Maccha House' and being listed in many blogs as one of Singapore's top Matcha cafes, it was sadly a major disappointment. I visited their Orchard Central branch, ordered a Carbonara Spaghetti and Maccha Latte with Brown Sugar Syrup and settled down in the midst of their green furnishings.
Their Carbonara tasted average with measly amounts of ham added, which upset me a little. I however, told myself that their signature Japanese green tea wouldn't fail us but we were wrong. The ice cream that was in the Maccha latte separated into powdered clumps when I stirred them, turning the drink into a chunky mess. I think the ice cream was supposed to melt in the green tea, providing it with a more bodied texture but it clearly didn't do the job. It tasted bland without the milk from the ice cream, making this drink a challenge to finish.
