Ah Hock Fried Hokkien Noodles is the most popular hokkien mee stall located in the famous Chomp Chomp food centre. Their noodles are less wet than other stalls, and waiting time for orders can go up to 45 minutes or more.

Drool-worthy hokkien mee

In the popular supper haunt Chomp Chomp lies this stall that sees orders having waiting times of an average of 45 minutes. While the wait time may seem daunting, there are many other things in Chomp Chomp that you can chomp on while waiting, so no worries!

Kim’s Hokkien Mee has an even amount of both white noodles and yellow noodles, and fortunately has none of the alkaline taste characteristic of yellow noodles. It’s mee also soaks in more of the seafood stock than many other Hokkien Mees I’ve tried, perhaps due to their choice of adding thin bee hoon rather than the thick white noodles. Fried with egg, the noodles have a creamy and smooth texture that will see it sliding off your spoon at times. After my first spoonful, I decided that it is well worth the wait.

My only grouse was that there was a meagre amount of seafood that came with the hokkien mee. However, the tantalising noodles is enough to keep me coming back again and again for more.
