An undiscovered gem for pork lovers
Camouflaged amongst the rows and rows of stalls at Alexandra Village, Leon Kee Claypot remains an undiscovered gem, hidden from pork lovers like me. I have nothing but praises for the stall – from the service to the broth – it was all perfect.
My usual order consists of the pork liver and kidney vermicelli, and it has never failed to leave me satisfied. The liver is boiled well but remains juicy and tender, which is quite rare to find in Singapore. I love how it does not crumble in my mouth and leave a dry aftertaste, like the livers from other stalls do. The kidney is soft and chewy, with a light, savoury flavour. The vermicelli is tasty as well, and will leave you wanting a second serving.
There are about 10 other dishes you can also try at the store, such as the braised pork. Leon Kee Claypot Pork Rib dishes are definitely worth going out of the way for.
