Fantastic supper place
I always thought frog porridge was cruel.
I always thought they killed it live and it was much too terrible to eat.
That changed when my friend drove me to this place in the middle of a starving night.
He excitedly led me here after parking haphazardly (tsk) and immediately rattled off his orders in perfect hokkien without asking for my input. Which is good because I would've wussed out when I saw the live frogs.
This is my first time eating frog porridge.
And it blew my mind.
It was so very fantastic. The frog claypot had this special sauce that was thick without being overbearing, and the frog meat was chewy and delicately tender, and the porridge felt like home.
I have never been able to finish any meal in my life and this was the first one that I managed to have seconds of. The porridge bowl dwindled quickly with every shred of frog meat we managed to pry from the bones and goddd was it good.
I'm coming back for them.
