Simple & Pleasant
Lauren Jasmine is as simple and pleasant as its name sounds - a 2 level boutique cum cafe that is minimalist and sleek in design and layout. Its monochromatic cafe counter actually felt slightly cold and impersonal at first, but the extremely friendly staff brightened up the mood instantly when they asked if we needed help when making our orders.
A sucker for coffee, I ordered a classic latte which was decently fragrant and slightly foamy, just the way I liked it. It came with a Malongo coffee biscuit, which reminded of ones that came with my lattes while I was in Germany :') This was an immediate plus and it's safe to say that I might even return to Lauren Jasmine just for coffee that comes with this cookie.
We had their pies for lunch, and they were much better than we expected, seeing that they looked fairly ordinary and similar even though there were 5-6 different flavors. I had a Cranberry Apple Pie, which was an exciting burst of flavors from the first bite. So freaking good, but it got pretty overwhelming after a while because of the strong sweet taste of the cranberries! Might be a flavor better for sharing in my opinion. My friend had a Eggs & Shrooms Pie which was a much lighter choice that was equally a treat for the buds.
A good place to check in for a quiet afternoon, as there is barely a crowd on a mid-day. The range of self-design clothing pieces that were retailed there were also fashion-forward and pretty :') Probably appealed more to the working crowd, though, as the prices were slightly more up-market for those designs.
