I like Quiznos because it doesn't pretend to be healthy. The subs are heartier, with generous dollops of sauce and larger slices of meat. I had the Honey Bourbon Chicken (6") and it was sufficiently filling.
For those who love customising their own subs, Quiznos' fixed menu might not be as appealing. The staff is happy to accede to any diet requests if you're picky. Their subs are mainly meat-based, with few choices for vegetarians, so given a choice, don't bring your vegetarian friends here.
You're paying a higher price for Quiznos, but it comes with some benefits. It's quieter than most fast food chains, easy to get seats and queues are unlikely - a good place to have a leisurely lunch.
Never thought I'll like it but I did!
Quiznos is said to be the better version of Subway but personally, I have never liked Subway. I guess it was probably due to the fact that I'm paying quite a lot for just pieces of bread and ingredients I can buy from Cold Storage and put together on my own.
I have friends who are working at Quiznos and that was why I visited. Being stubborn, I refused to spend money there but my friends gave me drinks and soup(perks of having friends who work at F&B outlets). They only have two different flavours of soup but they are really tasty! I don't usually like creamy soup but their cheesy broccoli soup is just nice, I love it. They also have cookies which they heat them up for you so you will have it warm and crispy. The environment there was rather peaceful and they had really friendly staff(I'm not saying this because my friends work there – the other staff were really nice too!), I went there quite a few times to visit and do my work.
Finally, one day they made a wrong order and gave it to me and WOW it was a whole new level of sandwich making! I never thought I would like it since it is similar to Subway, but it was so good I wouldn't mind going back there again and buy my own sub. Awesome subs, large warm cookies and delicious soup. This is definitely worth my money, and no, Subway cannot be compared to Quiznos.
Leaves me wanting more
Quiznos, like everyone is saying, is a great alternative to Subway. It does have more sauces, and also their subs are stuffed with alot more meat than subway. They are lovingly generous with their meat, it delights me.
Ordered the honey bourbon chicken and my boyfriend ordered the spicy beef and cheddar. That was our first time eating Quiznos and we fell for it hook, line and sinker. The meat was juicy and succulent, the sauces were on the sauce bar for us to generously squeeze into our subs, and the cheese is so prominent you'll love it if you love cheese.
The outlet at orchard central is alot more cozy and chill to hang out and have a great sub but i dislike the outlet at city hall which is too open with lots of people constantly streaming by and the lights are too typically "fast food chain" like. People who prefer their privacy would definitely prefer the one at orchard central! Service there is also better, the staff at city hall are very mopey and while i was trying to get someone to upsize my drink size, the manager was squatting down making a phone call. They should do a better job of being more attentive to their customers!
Overall i would continue eating Quiznos subs, but only if i had enough cash in my pocket. The prices are alittle steeper than subway, but for the quality of the subs and meat, i can understand why.
The Better Subway
Hailed as the better version of Subway, Quiznos is the new up and coming sandwich place. I must say, I do prefer the sandwiches there to Subway’s, and I prefer the sides that come along with it.
As a pescetarian, my only choices are the Tuna and Veggie sandwich. I enjoyed both very much, especially the Veggie sandwich as I really like the crunch of the vegetables. More importantly, I love their creamy broccoli soup, and I must say that was the deciding factor for me. It’s creamy and so comforting, especially on a rainy day. Another thing I really like is their cinnamon cookie. It’s huge, and when you get it toasted, the aroma of cinnamon is good enough to melt anyone’s heart.
Finally, the staff at Quiznos is an amazing bunch of people. I’m always greeted by smiles and they are really chatty. This makes the experience that much better.
Amateurs with a long way to go.
Comparing Quizno's to Subway is like comparing cardboard and waffles. There, I've said it.
My experience at their CityLink outlet was one that I'll do well to remember... For the tasteless food. I ordered a 6-Inch sub, the Turkey Bacon Guacamole. I was prepared to choose my greens and was told that I couldn't. That put me off instantly. When I got to the end, I chose a chocolate chip cookie and made it a meal.
My first bite was okay, but it was obviously the calm before the storm. The next few bites of turkey bacon were like eating cardboard wrapped in cucumbers! the bacon was so brittle and dry that it was practically tasteless and the veggies were definitely not fresh! I couldn't bear to finish the sub and left it alone. When I got to the cookie, I must admit I was relieved that it tasted nice. The right sweetness with the softness made it a treat after such a let-down. Although it could stand to be sweeter a bit, I would say it's just fine on it's own.
The high prices certainly do not justify the food. Quizno's had better work harder if it's serious about de-throning Subway.
Nice Alternative To Subway
The best way to describe Quiznos would be that it is a better version of Subway. The concept is essentially the same; quick on the go sandwiches which can be paired with drinks, salads, chips, cookies or soup (I don't think Subway has soup though).
The best sandwhich at Quiznos would have to be the Zesty Steak. When i first went to Quiznos I actually ate the Bourbon Chicken because I don't like beef. But after stealing a bite of the Zesty Steak from my friend I wanted to exchange my Bourbon Chicken. The meat is juicy and there's some kind of synergy when paired with the mustard and sauce. The next time I went back (and every time I've gone back since) I ordered the Zesty Steak and savored every bite.
The sandwiches compared to Subway are better. I felt that the ingredients were much fresher (especially the vegetables put in). Presentation wise I also felt that Quiznos faired better, it is just a sandwich but the subs at Subway seem to put together hastily and just mushed into their paper packaging. More careful thought seems to be put into preparing the subs at Quiznos.
I've never tried their salads or soups but the cookies at Quiznos also taste fresher and better than the ones at Subway. Perhaps it may just be novelty after having subway as an only choice for some time, but Quiznos is a really great alternative. The fact that they are also opening new outlets is a testament to their increasing popularity.
You should definitely try it at least once!
Subs at a whole new level!
Initially, I was a skeptic of this place. I never thought the subs here could ever be as good as subway but I was so wrong! subway lovers/die hard fans ought to give this place a try! Once you have tried it, it brings your perception of subs to a whole new level!
Quiznos don't just serve awesome subs, they also serve great soup and cookies! After being to Quiznos, I have stopped eating subs anywhere else.
The service staffs werent exactly very bubbly or friendly but their service were acceptable for a 'fast food' place like this.
However, the orchard central branch is plagued with students studying! This causes the place to always be packed and finding seats becomes impossible as students refuse to give up their seats. I hope the management team rectifies this problem so that customers like myself will not dread eating at this place during peak hours.
Definitely above Subway
I got to know Auiznos Sub from my friends and initially, I thought it would just be the substitute of subway; if Subwayis crowded, opt for Quiznos. But after trying it, I was totally wrong. I tried the Zesty Grilled Beef which was recommended by everyone, Mesquite Chicken , steak and cheese and their broccoli soup.
The Zesty Grilled Beef is priced at $6.20 for 6 inch sub. Just like subway, you could choose your own bread and the fillings. The beef is juicy and tender and I love to have it with the wheat bread.
Do remember to ask for the sauce for flavour boost.
As for the Mesquite Chicken, it is for those who opt for healthier choice with crispy and yet not too oily chicken. It is priced at $6.20 for 6 inch too.
The broccoli soup contains the right amount of broccoli , slightly creamy with a touch of cheddar cheese for extra flavour. It goes really well with the zesty grilled beef and it will keep you full for the whole day.
I would definitely recommend Quiznos Sub for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. It tastes better than subway with newer and fresher innovations. A really splendid idea of creating Great subs for everyone.
Whenever you hear Quiznos, everyone would then compare it to Subway. It isn't surprising really as both specialise in subs, but once you make a visit to Quiznos, you'd know the difference right away. When you're in Quiznos, ask for the little menu pamphlets for easy reference. Unlike most sub place, here, they don't have customised subs. Instead, they have a variety for you to choose from. The menu would come in helpful here as they list out the ingredients of each subs in detail. Personally, I really love the bourbon chicken sub and mesquite chicken as I'm more inclined towards this certain meat but to each their own. There's also the choice for either brown or white bread.
When ordering, you would have to specify the size as how you would at Subway. Then there's the combo choice. I usually go for the one with chicken soup though for people who'd like a healthier choice should opt for a salad instead. Other than those two choices, you could also opt for either chips or cookies. If you're going for the cookies, ask for the chocolate chunk and have it warmed up. It is a thrilling sensation to your tongue if you love chocolate cookies. Each combo comes with a drink and it cost about $3-4 for the combo addition.
Once you get your sub, head to the sauces corner. Although this might sound really weird, try dunking the pickles in honey mustard. TRULY DELISH! I find myself completing everything with the honey mustard here.
Bottomline, if you ever have to choose between Quiznos or Subway choose the former. Better food with slightly higher prices but it'd be worth the extra pinch.
Quiznos also has branches at Novena 2 square and citylink. Visit there if you're around the area.
With their subs and cookies, Quiznos may remind you of Subway, but this place may have already taken over Subway’s place in my heart with its far more interesting menu.
EXTENSIVE MENU – Sick of seeing the same subs each time you visit Subway? The menu at Quiznos may just be the answer, what with its Turkey Bacon Guacamole, Black Angus on Rosemary Parmesan and Southern BBA Pulled Pork. Okay admitted, I just picked the most exotic sounding ones, but isn’t it a fresh change?!
WARM COOKIES – Do not underestimate the power of a warm cookie. I was so pleasantly surprised when they shoved my cookie into the conveyor belt oven. I was rubbing my hands in glee when the cookie dropped out, all steamy and looking delightfully gooey.
NO CUSTOMISATION OF YOUR SUB – You cannot choose what sauce and veggies go into your sub. I may have been spoilt and was expecting to do so the first time I ate at Quiznos, and was a little disappointed. However whatever was in the sub worked for me, so I’m good!
ENVIRONMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY – For all the environmentalists out there, this may put you off a little. Styrofoam (I assume) plates are used to hold your sub and cookie, and you can choose to take plastic fork and knives to emulate cutting up a steak in fine dining. I feel that this is rather redundant, and I will be absolutely satisfied with a plain ol’ tray which can be used over and over again.
I was extremely happy with my one time dining experience at Quiznos. The exotic subs, warm cookie and plush seats (the Orchard Central branch) were all refreshing changes, and I would definitely go back there again!
