Western "Kou Rou Bao"?
Bear Bites is getting so popular right now those positive reviews keep coming out on their Instagram. If I did not remember wrongly, they are or they have opened a new outlet in Bugis to cater to all the bear paws fans. Honestly speaking, after trying once. I would not patronize Bear Bites again as I find it not worthy. Bear Paws is like a fusion of Chinese tradition “Kao Rou Bao” and western concepts of meat patty, vegetables and fries. I ordered their Crispy Chicken Oat Paw Burger along with cheese fries and a bottle of milk coffee.
The soft bun does not appeal to me as the crispy meat patty would make the bun taste soggy. At the same time, charges are applicable for the various types of buns such as strawberry, yam and milk etc. You can choose which sauces to goes around with your bun too. However, I think that the taste would really goes along better with the bun. Could not remember too clearly but I think I ordered the mushroom sauce. Despite that, their outlet at scape wasn’t a good place to patronize during a drizzling day.
Attracted by the Scent, Stayed for the food
Located at Scape, this newly erupted fast food outlet was trending because of their adorable bear paw bun. However, unlike most people who were attracted by its looks, I was actually attracted by their wonderful chicken smell.
Anyways, I felt that the shop was very well located. With seats under a tree and 987’s music blasting above, it’s a great place for youths and couples who are under a tight budget to have their meals! Apart from their great ambiance, I felt that the food was not too bad as well! I love the chicken and its soft bun, but I felt that the sauce might be a little too runny.
