terrible BB creams.
I've only tried the BB creams from this brand before, but it wasn't a pleasant experience, so I won't be trying other products despite their affordability.
The BB cream in the pink bottle was difficult to spread and blend into the skin, and looked quite unnatural. The one in the bright orange bottle was even worse. It smelled very, very strongly of sunblock. Okay, so it does have decent sun protection properties, but that's not reason for me to smell like a walking sunscreen bottle! Furthermore, the colour made me look ghastly. Since I'm relatively fair (about NC20) the fact that it made me look even paler probably means that it's not suitable for most skin tones?
Overall, am really disappointed with these purchases.
makes me gray like gray clouds...
I really disliked the skin 79 bb cream in the hot pink bottle. I was gifted one by a friend and prior to using it, I thought it would be amazing as I've read so many positive reviews about it. I was so disappointed when it developed into a gray cast after 1 minute of application. My face and neck was of a different color and I looked horrendousssss! Like a girl who played with mommy's makeup. I look so washed out and pale. I tried using a buffing brush, a flat foundation brush, a stipple brush, a beautyblender and my fingers. It still looked Y.U.C.K.Y on me. Came to the conclusion it was the BB cream's problem. I liked the hot pink bottle though. It looks so Barbie and girly. If only the BB cream was useful, this would probably be my favorite BB cream
I don't know if the 'benefits' of BB cream are actually real because I didn't use it for a duration long enough to witness the 'benefits' but as a BB cream, if it cannot provide me with the proper coverage and make my skin look nicer, I think it has failed.
You have served me well
The very first bb cream that I used belonged to Skin79 (Diamond Absolute Total BB Cream). While it was not a bad product, the coverage was too sheer for my liking and it was heavily scented. Thus, I opted for an alternative, their intense classic balm. Their intense classic balm provided decent coverage and had little or no scent. It was not a fantastic product but I was satisfied for a first time bb cream user. While it didn't cause me to breakout in acne, the bb cream was relatively oily and it felt heavy on my skin.
Skin79's products are very affordable, and even cheap if you purchase on Qoo10. Their intense classic balm had served me well during my virgin makeup days, but now I have to bid farewell to it as I move on to other brands.
I'm a current user of Skin79's Intense Classic Balm, and I won't say it's a life-changing product, but it's definitely quite worth it.
After nearly a year of constant, almost daily applications, I still don't see any changes to my blemished face.. but then again it doesn't actively cause me to break out, and even on nights when I get too lazy to wash my face after the whole day being outside, and left it on, my skin doesn't get all clogged with pimples.
It provides fantastic coverage, though.. covers up my red/brown marks quite well. What I see in the mirror is that it looks obvious I'm using a BB cream, but I've asked loads of people if it's visible and they're always like, "what's visible?". I'm always told that it looks like I've never applied anything on my face, which is one of the biggest compliments for me.
Since the price isn't so bad either, I'll probably continue using!
