The Closet Lover (TCL) is one of the online shopping sites that I've listed in my favourite list. So far, there hasn't been any dismay between my purchase with TCL and so I would say that it is a pretty good online boutique to shop at.
However, I have to warn you that you have to act fast in order to get hold of a piece of your favourite or long-awaited apparel. Their apparels can be sold out in the blink of an eye and not every sold out item will have a backorder. Therefore, I urge you to take note of its launching date and time so that you can be the first few to enter the site and purchase all that you are interested in.
Last but not least, I'd like to compliment TCL for their efficient service and patience towards customers' enquiries. I always receive my parcel within 2-3 weeks and although the price isn't really cheap, it is worth it for the top-notch quality of clothes.
I started buying clothes from The Closet Lover, only because I had purchased some vouchers from Groupon, which stated that I had to spend a minimum of $35. I thought I had scored a good deal, but The Closet Lover completely disgusted me. They priced items at $34.90, to force those who had purchased the voucher to buy two items at least. I felt so cheated, and regretted buying 3 vouchers.
In addition, their system leaves much, much to be desired. There was one occasion where two items from their upcoming collection caught my eye, so I eagerly camped for them and managed to cart out both. However, my elation was short-lived, because a few days later, they emailed me to notify me that my order had been overlooked, and one of the items was now out of stock, with no backorders. I was so disappointed, because my effort had gone to waste! Since it was their fault, the least they could have done was refund me the balance, but no, they were only willing to refund me in store credit, which left me with no choice but to purchase from them again.
The Closet Lover has pretty clothes, and I do like some of them. However, the prices aren’t very reasonable, and they can mostly be found at City Plaza, at lower prices. Above all, the customer service is appalling and I will never, never shop with them again.
I think TCL has a lot of apparels for each launch, thus you will bound to find something fashionable and to your liking.
I have bought shoes and mainly knit wears from them. I love their shoes for the quality. I have worn them for a few months and they can really last.
As for all the knit wears that I have purchased, the quality is great too but I find them a little too thick. Definitely not possible to wear outdoors in SG.
The prices are affordable and the quality is definitely worth it. They also often have items under fab finds which are priced slightly cheaper. Many of the designs under fab finds are really pretty as well!
However, it is always sold out really fast. Thus you need to decide on what to buy before the launch. Most importantly, if you have vouchers that need minimum spending, remember to decide on what alternatives to buy in case one item is sold out. Many times I ended up thinking for too long and all the items I like went OOS.
This shop really has some great items. It's the blogshop for me when I'm looking for cardigans and sweaters. The quality of the items are really good as well, the cardigans would keep you warm.
The bad thing about this blogshop is that clothes sell out really quickly. Just one of those blogshops that are really popular. Their items are also a little more expensive than the average blogshop but I guess they can afford to price items that way since they have so many loyal buyers.
I have an adoration for webstores that allow for Paypal payment because it's definitely convenient for the shoppers, and gives off a more professional air, and it just so happens that The Closet Lover is one of such stores.
Needless to say, it wasn't long after my discovery of them that I purchased a top from the store, and ever since that shopping experience, The Closet Lover has been one of my favourite local webstores. Service was prompt, and although the top that I had ordered was on backorder, the clothing arrived earlier than I'd expected, and the store even sent out an email to inform me that the top was arriving, which was certainly a nice touch.
The Closet Lover is also awfully on trend, as they update their collections on a weekly basis, and the clothes that they sell are always in line with the latest fashion trends. Although the prices at The Closet Lover cannot be considered cheap, they are within an affordable and reasonable range, which definitely makes it easier for a student like myself to part with my money. I particularly like that the clothes at The Closet Lover are unique in comparison to the clothes that other local blogshops retail, as the store manufactures some of their own designs. This definitely lends a special touch to the clothes, as there would be less chance of bumping into someone wearing the exact same item on the street.
Clothes sell out very fast at The Closet Lover though, perhaps due to their popularity, and there aren't guaranteed backorders for every item, so I would recommend fans to check out the facebook preview photos beforehand, then accessing the site the moment the new collection is launched to ensure yourself a piece of your coveted clothing.
The Closet Lover, or TCL, is one my favourite online shops. They bring in plenty of new designs every week and I think the owners, two sisters, have a good eye for the latest trends. The prices are affordable and the quality of the items is pretty decent. I've bought many items and not once have I felt "cheated" or disappointed in terms of the material of the item. The service is also great, with prompt and helpful replies. One white top I bought had stains on it, and I managed to return it in exchange for store credits.
The only problem I have is that because they are a very popular blogshop, their items sell our REALLY quickly. By that, I mean that popular items often sell out within minutes of the launch, which makes it really annoying as not everyone is so free as to camp in front of the computer reloading a page. Restocks and backorders are also not guaranteed, so I've missed some coveted items.
