All the signs point to disaster, but infact a surprising success

I don’t think that I could think of a worse location for a pub than hidden inside an almost empty shopping centre opposite The Hard Rock Cafe. All the signs point to the place being deserted and unknown, however when I somehow managed to find my way one night inside this hidden Pub, it was packed. It was full of people of all ages and backgrounds, and when you’re inside it feels a million miles away from the shopping centre that you’re really in. After ending up having a better night than I do at most of the ‘fancy’ bars around Singapore, I definitely think that at some point in the future I’ll wind up here again.

Cheap food, cheap drinks, and a cosy atmosphere are my three favourite things when it comes to a night out, and Chips had them all. Classy it’s not, but fun? Most definitely. Don’t judge it from the outside of the mall or in fact the outside of the pub itself, as admittedly both look hideous. But inside you’ll feel embraced by the warm and friendly vibe from the music to the decorations surrounding the bar, and you’ll most likely end up having a really fun night.

They’re open seven days a week and from 4 in the afternoon, and I wouldn’t go if you’re looking for the experience of a fancy bar or club, but if you fancy a different scene many of the dressed up, over-priced and a little bit snooty bars around the island, try this hidden rough diamond.
