Orgo was launched in September, 2008, as part of the Singapore River Festival. It was originally conceived as a mobile bar by Taiwanese-American entrepreneur Nick Yen. The modular system that he conceptualized was designed to allow the bar to move around swiftly and flexibly. The primary objective was to create an evolving space to give the customer a novel experience every time. The chance to work with the Esplanade, however, was too attractive to pass on and Orgo has now found its true home between the Durians.

The beautiful Orgo.
There really is only one word to describe Orgo Rooftop Bar and that is: captivating.
After walking around the city quite a fair bit, my date and I finally landed in Orgo and it was love at first sight for me. The surroundings were lush and spectacular. The view of the whole city is available from the bar and it really is a sight to behold. Makes your heart swell slightly with pride at this city we live in. The night lights dance around different parts of the bar and the bar itself was unique. There were outdoor tables and glasses boxes you could be seated in should you want an indoor seat. I made a beeline for an outdoor table which was filling up fast, despite it being only 10.30pm.
The drinks seemed interesting and a friend told us that their cocktails were a speciality, especially the fruit ones. I went along and ordered a watermelon margarita and was not disappointed. The fruity, sweet taste was fresh and satisfying. It was not too expensive either, considering the location and prices of drinks comparatively to other bars around that area.
To me, atmosphere is always one of the most important factors when considering places to dine and drink at. And at Orgo, the atmosphere is breathtaking. Of course, having someone you like spend the time with you is a big plus, but overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Great night view and atmosphere
My date and I spent a lot of time filtering out places to go to for affordable booze and a great view. Took us a bit of courage to finally approach Orgo and be seated in one of their large glass boxes (it was a pity all the outside tables were occupied).
The set-up was classy and came across as expensive at first but after getting a closer look at their prices, not in the least! Their Happy Hour sees to Wine house pours going at $10/glass and a selection of beers for less till 8 pm.
Food is delicious but a little over-priced.
How best to enjoy this bar is probably to visit during the Happy Hours and just chill out with a brilliant view of the night sky. Either reserve or be early to get the best seats! You know once people get their butts on the best seats, they'll hog it to no end.
Situated on top of the Esplanade, it has views of Marina Bay Sands, the Fullerton and the skyline of Raffles place. It is a quite a romantic place due to the scenic views and I was there thrice for dessert and drinks.
The best thing about this place is its ambience. The glass rooms optimized the views especially at night where MBS starts its light show. I also recommend that people who try this place order its warm chocolate cake. It has been some time that I have been there but I have to say their chocolate cake is legendary!
Overall, a great place to go if you're in the area - perhaps before or after a show at the esplanade!
When I first saw the setting of the bar, I knew that I had chosen the right place to celebrate my friend's birthday. For the amount of people we were invited, I thought we had to take a room and guess what; they gave us the glass room! The room makes you feel weird, like having public privacy.
The bad thing about this bar was if you wanted to order something, it was difficult. Usually, we had to go all the way to the bar counter to get our orders. Because of the room, the service was very poor for the price we have to pay. A minimum of 2 bottles was required to book the room.
