I had a stay-cation at The Elizabeth Hotel quite some time back, but it was probably one of the better hotel stays that I had in a long time.
The rooms and beds were excellent, and the service staff were nothing but gracious. But what truly stood out to me and left a particular impression was the breakfast spread the next morning.
The breakfast spread was gorgeous. In ordinary hotels (even MBS), the food will be good, but not spectacular. My experience at this hotel however, was much different. I remembered tables and tables of both local, and traditional breakfast. You can find your local nasi lemak and mee remus, along with Western-styled scrambled eggs and toast. Simply magnificent.
Luxurious and wonderful
I had a two night stay in Elizabeth a couple years back and it was a pretty good stay.
The room has pretty spacious and the bed was really fluffy and thick and soft. It felt like one of those beds where you can do bounce and bounce. It was very comfortable and soft. The room came with a wall closet for keeping stuff with minibar and the furnishing was like victorian type.
I remembered that the bathroom door is designed as a two piece door with metal handles and there is no lock, you merely just shut the door. The bathroom also has a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle. The hotel was also pretty considerate and the bathtub came with anti-slip mats, which is a must for me, as I had the bad experience of falling out of a bathtub while taking a shower.
Breakfast was included and the spread was pretty sumptuous and there were both western and local variety to choose from. However, I did notice that one of the staff appeared to favour serving Caucasians and not Asians. Not sure why, but it appears to be so. Nonetheless, I did not see this on others.
Overall, it is a nice and romantic room to choose and is pretty near Orchard as well.
