Best $50 we ever spent
Fragrance Hotel is a tried-and-tested-and-adored nightcap for me and my friends.
Me and my friends frequent Fragrance Hotel Royal. Our standard protocol would be to go drink then club then come here after. By then it was probably 4/5am, an ungodly hour, and the only place to get any last-minute rooms is here.
Usually it's the 5 of us and honest-to-god, that $50 we spent on the 2 hours we stayed in finally recuperating from the night of dancing, to feel the shower jets on our skin, to sink into their wonderfully made beds, was nothing short of heaven.
The facilities are not much to boast about. We couldn't stand the small and badly placed tv and spent it mainly in silence and occasional complaints about the club we were at earlier or smiling idiotically at nothing in particular - comfort does strange things to people.
A nice place for a quick rest.
its really a budget hotel
For such a price for a budget hotel, i thought it meant that i can expect something better from them. Well, after checking in, i can only say that it is an expensive budget hotel.
The rooms itself felt dirty and sticky and there is a damp smell in the room. The furnishing were all very old looking and the TV was a CRT type. The bed was those cheap type with a rubber layer as the mattress cover. The sheets were thin and too small. When i wake up in the morning, i will find myself touch the rubbery surface of the bed as the sheets were all crumbled out from the bed. The blanket was the type with a woolly surface, frankly, i don't know if they had been changed.
The bathroom was equally inadequate, with toothbrushes that are pre-packed with toothpaste and does not form any foam when you brush. The water pressure was low and it make bathing really difficult.
The staff at the counter had no smiles on the face which was sad since there are the frontline staff at the hotel. With this type of service, i think they should charge it cheaper instead.
