A sizzling barbecue pit or a steamy hotpot is always heaven. Surely many of you out there can relate to that. Just the thought of digging into such sumptuous meals is enough to make our mouths water.
So, over the years we’ve been living in Da Nang, we’ve been trying out several barbecue and hotpot restaurants here. Below are 8 of our favorites that we highly recommend you check out.

Located just a few minutes from Mỹ Khê Beach and open for both lunch and dinner, Đom Đóm Barbecue is a restaurant you can hit up for some conveniently-located sizzling deliciousness.

A standard buffet portion here (VND245,000, ~USD10.46) already offers plenty. The meat is marinated in different sauces such as barbecue and bulgogi, and there are also 6 different dipping sauces for you to further spice up the flavors. The side dishes are also sumptuous with tuna salad and tropical fruit salad being some notable mentions.

If you call ahead to reserve a table for lunch, you can get this standard portion at a discounted price of VND199,000 (~USD8.50).
Of course, feel free to opt for the premium buffet (VND295,000, ~USD12.60) to also get the sashimi and seafood menu too, including oysters or mussels grilled with scallion.
Address: 177 Nguyễn Văn Thoại Street, Ngũ Hành Sơn District, Đà Nẵng
Opening hours: 11am-10pm, Daily

For those on a budget, Sâu Nướng is where you can get the most bang for your, eh, VND. That said, the restaurant certainly doesn’t feel low-budget with its bright, clean, and spacious setting.
And for as little as VND159,000 (~USD6.79) for lunch and VND179,000 (~USD7.64) for dinner, you get an all-you-can-eat buffet of either barbecue or hotpot. Remember, either barbecue or hotpot, not both.

The meat options are, naturally, aren’t outstandingly diverse, but you’ll still be able to order 10 types of meat such as pork belly, short plate beef, and chicken wings. Add another VND19,000 (~USD0.81) to that standard price, and you can enjoy some additional seafood options such as prawns, oysters, and octopi.
Feel free to help yourself to the many desserts on display here.

Whichever option you go for, feel free to help yourself to the fruits, gelato, and other desserts displayed on a counter in the middle of the dining space.

Quán Nướng Chú Bi is one of our go-to BBQ restaurants in Da Nang, and it has a lot to do with the friendly, attentive staff who will make you feel right at home in the casual but clean and airy space.
The standard barbecue (VND219,000, ~USD9.35) menu already comes with plenty of meat on offer, including the signature beef short ribs in apple sauce, and our favorite octopus tentacles marinated with green chili.

But we would highly recommend going for the upgraded portion (VND249,000, ~USD10.53). With this, you get free-flow drinks and more meat options, including pork breast, which is satisfyingly crunchy with a hint of milk once grilled.
Do note that the restaurant only opens in the evening, from 5pm. Also, some of the marinated meat can be quite spicy, so if that’s not your thing, let the staff know.
Address: 48 Nguyễn Chí Thanh Street, Hải Châu District, Đà Nẵng
Opening hours: 5pm-10.30pm, Daily

Sumo BBQ is an all-but-too-familiar name to any meat lover in Vietnam. The brand has outlets in multiple major cities, Đà Nẵng included, and its popularity speaks for its quality.

Now, the price tags of VND449,000 (~USD19.60) for a classic buffet portion and VND499,000 (~USD21.31) for a premium option aren’t exactly the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. USDA Prime beef steaks, from striploin to tenderloin, pork ribs, boneless chicken thighs, you name it.

Also add more flavors to your meal with side dishes such as mushroom soups or grilled salmon, all included in the buffet menu. As for dessert, try chè khúc bạch – a Vietnamese jelly with different flavors, often served with almonds.
Address: 4th floor, Vincom Center Đà Nẵng, 910A Ngô Quyền Street, Sơn Trà District, Đà Nẵng
Opening hours: 10.30am-9pm, Daily

A massive building occupying an entire street corner, with the beach just a few minutes away, Tokyo BBQ Town is always packed full of customers, and for good reason. Just a heads-up before we continue, there’s no buffet option here. You order whatever you want, and pay for what you eat.

And when we say whatever you want, it’s not too much of an exaggeration. The restaurant has a massive menu including both barbecue and hotpot. Aside from the usual beef, pork, and chicken, there are also less common meat options such as ostrich and crocodile.

Prices here range from VND100,000-VND200,000 (~USD4.27-USD8.54) for each dish of meat. Hotpot options range from VND229,000 (~USD9.78) to VND609,000 (~USD26.01).

Another popular name among meat lovers in Đà Nẵng is Veteran Restaurant, praised by many diners for its authentic Korean barbecue experience.
The price is admittedly quite high compared to local standards. A 180g serving of rib eye prime or chuck flap tail prime goes for a whopping VND950,000 (~USD40.49), but rest assured that it’s more than worth your while.

The meat isn’t highly marinated, but that means you can focus on the quality of the cut itself, which is always fresh, tender, and juicy. Other more affordable options include a 600g shared seafood set or pork set (VND700,000, ~USD29.83).

Also, while it’s understandable that you’ll want to gorge on the delicious meat, don’t pass on the signature fried rice here, fried to a perfect crisp right at your grilling table and wrapped around mouth-watering mozzarella cheese.
Address: 8 Dương Đình Nghệ Street, Sơn Trà District, Đà Nẵng
Opening hours: 5pm-12am, Daily

While many restaurants we’ve mentioned above do have hotpot options, they are often included as complementary dishes to their barbecue. For those who want some dip-and-sip deliciousness as the main highlight of their meal, check out Lẩu Hương Cảng.

The décor oozes a charming Hong Kong vibe with bright red lanterns and Chinese-style paintings covering the walls, and the food is no less appealing. For a buffet fee of VND229,000 (~USD9.76) for lunch, and VND269,000 (~USD11.47) for dinner, you can order up to 4 different hotpot flavors, from the popular Thai hotpot, to Hong Kong-style hotpot, ginseng hotpot, and more.
And again, if you call ahead to reserve a table, a 10% discount is applied.
Address: 95 Lê Lợi Street, Hải Châu District, Đà Nẵng
Opening hours: 11am-10pm, Daily

For our final entry in this list, we recommend hitting up Mudan Restaurant to enjoy 9 different hotpot flavors in a bright, clean, decorative space decorated in vintage Chinese style.
As is quite common for hotpot restaurants, the pots are split into either 2 or 4 different trays for you to enjoy different hotpot flavors. As Mudan places a strong emphasis on Chinese food, the Sichuan flavor is highly recommended, though other options such as Kimchi or Tomyum are also well-loved. There are also non-chili options such as cheese hotpot or mushroom hotpot.

In terms of meat to dip in your hotpot, aside from the usual beef and pork, try having pigeon (VND109,000, ~USD4.65) or duck tongue (VND129,000, ~USD5.50) for a change.
Address: 166 Phan Châu Trinh Street, Hải Châu District, Đà Nẵng
