The stars in the sky shine brightly at night but it’s almost impossible to see them with the naked eye. Well, with the right astronomy tools found at the Woodlands Galaxy CC Observatory, you’ll be able to admire their beauty.
Located at Woodlands Galaxy CC, the observatory has been closed since 2020 – but it’s reopening its doors on 7th October and every Friday after. Here’s why it’s the perfect after-work hang-out spot:
When anyone mentions going to an observatory, you’d probably think that it would be located in an ulu spot. But unlike Jeff Bezos, you don’t need to blast off in a rocket to get here – the Galaxy CC Observatory is just a 5-minute walk from Admiralty MRT station.
It also has a pocket-friendly ticket fee of just $1/pax. All you need to do is stop by the CC Counter Service at Level 1 to get your tickets. Try to go early as tickets are said to be limited!
Space geeks would know that there are a few astronomical events lined up for the rest of 2022. For instance, Jupiter is the closest it’s ever been to earth in 60 years and you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of it until February 2023.
The observatory could not have opened at a better time. Mars and Saturn will also be visible on the 7th October and will remain so until the 8th, so head on down to catch a glimpse with their state-of-the-art telescope with a 30cm reflector while you can.
Never worry about running out of ideas for date nights again. For an out-of-this-world experience, head to the community club to admire the stars and your date on the observatory roof.
The views aren’t just in the sky, the observatory comes with a spiral staircase that makes for great pics for the ‘Gram.
Once you’re done stargazing, there are plenty of activities you can do at Woodlands Galaxy CC, like a karaoke lounge where you can sing your hearts out. You can also get in a quick workout at their gymnasium or partake in a fun game of badminton with friends at their in-house court.
