Ask around for the most kid-friendly mall in Singapore, and you’ll probably get a resounding vote for VivoCity. I mean, it’s tough to contest that fact when the mall has a free outdoor play zone with trampolines, slides and water jets and a rooftop Sky Park spanning the area of 4 Olympic-sized swimming pools, complete with water features.
It’s also a favourite amongst parents for its wide range of retail and food establishments that let them easily run errands and keep their kids entertained at one go. To add on to the fun, VivoCity Kids Club’s Holiday Carnival is on from now till 16th June 2019 at the Outdoor Plaza on Level 1, to bring your child’s excitement levels to the max. Here are some things to look forward to when you visit:
Some of our favourite memories have probably emerged from carnivals – be it camping at game booths until we won something or screaming our lungs out on pirate ship. Gift your child that same experience at VivoCity – their kid-friendly carnival has all the makings of a full-fledged one – just better suited for the little ones.
Adventurous bravehearts can hop on board the classic Pirate Ship ride at the carnival – open to all over the height limit of 0.7M. Don’t be fooled by its petite size, the thrill-inducing angles at which the ship swings will have even adults squealing in delight. Repeat the process multiple times for the fun to truly never end.
Those with energiser bunnies for children can set them loose on the Rainbow Bouncer that comes with climbing ramps, slides and even an obstacle course. Let them race to scale inflatable structures and duck between hanging boulders to reach the other side.
Understandably, no parent wants to have to chase their kid around on an inflatable obstacle course. But don’t fret, carnival crew will be stationed within and around the course to keep an eye out for your young ones.
Giant Swing rides are unmissable carnival classics. You may have seen the supersized version around town recently, but this kid-friendly one is a perfect chance for your child to get in on the action this time!
It isn’t a carnival if there isn’t a carousel present and this neon-lit one doesn’t fail to deliver. Need we also mention that it’s a great opportunity to step up your IG mum or dad game.
Go for a spin on the Wander Wheels ride too, where you and your child can drive adorable miniature cars decked out in LED lights around the arena. Afterwards, pop into Dancing Lights for an interactive experience, where you’ll get to live the 12 Dancing Princesses dream of waltzing or running around the darkened room as the floor emits different lights and musical notes based on where you stand!
Swap out the iPads and the phones for some traditional carnival games that will test the coordination and motor skills of your child as they try their hand at the ring toss, frog fishing and pyramid cans to win prizes.
You don’t have to worry about the fact that the carnival will only be around until mid-June as the mall still has many other activities for your little ones throughout the year.
Hop on a ride of the Mini Express Train at Level 1 which will take you and your kid on a spin round the waterfront promenade. For just $6 per ride, you’ll be able to admire the view of Sentosa’s looming castle, roller coasters and the cable cars.

If you have a water baby who just can’t keep himself or herself out of the pool, head for a Paddle Boat Ride at the Level 3 Sky Park. Here, they’ll get to be the captains of their own ship – or paddle boat – and race one another around the perimeter of the rooftop pool. You can also be reassured of their safety as the 15-minute long ride takes place on shallow waters, for children aged 3-12.

The June holidays often bring about a sigh of relief from kids – no more waking up early in the morning or going to school. So take this opportunity to just hang out with your kids and have fun, an opportunity that could be rare during the hectic school year.
If you’re a VivoCity Kids Club member, you’re in luck! You and your child will be entitled to free entry into the carnival. And even if you aren’t a member, signing up for membership is entirely free.
For non-members, as long as you spend a minimum of $80 in 2 same-day mall-wide receipts – a pretty easy feat in the biggest shopping mall in Singapore – you will also get access to the carnival for 2 kids and 1 accompanying adult.
If this has convinced you to pick up a VivoCity Kids Club membership, be quick – the first 2,000 sign-ups between 1st – 30th June 2019 will receive a complimentary Punch Buddy Backpack. You can also redeem a free toy projector when you spend a minimum of $60 at Kids Club qualifying stores. All redemptions while stocks last.
And when everyone is hungry after all the fun and play, head over to some of the new F&B outlets in Basement 2 such as Tori Q, and Penang Culture to refuel. Spend a minimum of $30 at any of the participating Basement 2 F&B outlets, and receive a $2 Grab Promo Code.
