If you’re curious about what the cards have in store for you, this is a pretty unconventional way to seek some spiritual guidance without booking a face-to-face session with a tarot reader. We tried it out ourselves to see how it works and if its readings resonated with us.
Those familiar with Singapore’s tarot scene might have come across Destiny Wealth Crafter, known online for its well-reviewed tarot and numerology services, as well as workshops for aspiring fortune tellers. To make tarot readings more accessible, the consultancy introduced a tarot vending machine that lets passers-by get a reading while on the go.
Located a 3-minute walk from Bencoolen MRT Station, the vending machine is just around the corner from Destiny Wealth Crafter’s Sunshine Plaza outlet. It operates 24/7 and is entirely self-service, with each reading priced at $4.99 and taking less than 5 minutes to complete.
Before your reading begins, choose a topic for the cards to focus on. Pick between love, career, wealth, and health depending on which area you’d like some insight into.
Next, enter a question related to your chosen topic, with a limit of 120 words, to help guide your reading. If nothing comes to mind, you can also select 1 of the suggested questions given to you by the virtual tarot reader.
P.S. Keep it to 1 question per reading, as multiple questions may result in less accurate readings according to the machine.
Tap on the screen to shuffle the deck, then pick out 3 tarot cards to get your reading. Once they’re laid out, tap on each card to reveal what’s hidden beneath.
BTW, you’ll need to make your payment before revealing what’s under the 3rd card. The vending machine only accepts cashless payments, so make sure to have your card or e-wallet ready.
After revealing the 3 tarot cards, the machine will generate its interpretation of what each card means and what you should do moving forward. It’ll print out your reading for you to bring home, with the choice of having a copy sent to your email for easy reference as well.
So, how accurate are the readings from this tarot vending machine? To put it simply, don’t expect it to predict your future. When we asked about health and how to better support our current wellbeing, the reading came back fairly generic.
It advised us to spend more time outdoors, accept more acts of support from others, and let go of unnecessary stress. Though it did surface some sensible points for self-reflection, the advice felt more like general wellness tips rather than anything particularly personal.
The machine is a fun novelty to try out given its low price; it’s not every day you get your fortune told by a metal box, after all.
