Singaporeans have been going to JB for their petrol and grocery runs since, well, forever. But because of the Causeway traffic, sometimes it’s hard to justify spending half your precious weekend stuck in a jam to do something you can do in Singapore.
ST Rosyam Mart could fix that. The new halal supermarket at Paragon Market Place just opened on 12th September 2026. And it never closes. So you can cross when the checkpoint is empty, do your whole haul at 2am, and be back in bed before the weekend crowd has started queueing. More reasons to add it to your list of supermarkets in JB to check out.
The current exchange rate is S$1=MYR3.18 as of 28th October 2026.
ST Rosyam Mart is a Malaysian chain that Sri Ternak Group set up in 2018 with local actor Datuk Rosyam Nor. The Tampoi branch is the brand’s 10th outlet and its first in Johor, and also its biggest yet at approximately 70,000sqft.

ST Rosyam Mart is at Paragon Market Place along Jalan Tampoi, about a 20-minute drive from the JB Checkpoint. That’s far enough from town to skip the usual tourist-mall crowds, but close enough that you’re not spending your whole night driving.
The mall is easy to spot: its facade is modelled on a railway station, a nod to the KTM trains that run past it. There are 700 free parking bays, which makes it super convenient to find parking without having to drive in circles.
And if you’re not driving, the Causeway Link runs a direct bus from JB Sentral to the Opp Paragon Market Place stop. The ride takes about 24 minutes and costs RM1-RM3 (~S$0.31–S$0.94), but buses only come once an hour. A Grab is the less stressful option, especially if you’re lugging a week’s worth of groceries home.

With over 40,000 products on the shelves, this place covers your whole grocery list. But the best part is that you can find fresh produce, daily essentials, household products, celebrity-branded items, and bulk groceries all sold at wholesale prices.
It’s worth saving your weekly or bi-weekly grocery shopping until you can come here because it’s really worth it. Plus, if you do bulk shopping for non-perishables like soy sauce and canned food, your groceries will last a pretty long time.
The real draw is the fresh meat and seafood section, where prices are low enough to make you question what you’ve been paying back home. Think ikan bulus, also known as silver whiting, for RM30.90/kg (~S$9.72/kg) and ikan pelaling for RM16.90/kg (~S$5.31/kg).
The entire supermarket is halal, which means there’s no pork or lard sold here. Plus, butchers are there to help you even if you go in the wee hours of the morning.
The store also gives out free ice packs, a small thing that matters a lot here. Your seafood has to survive the drive back and a possible jam at the checkpoint, so you won’t need to bring a cooler bag or rush home with a fish slowly warming in the boot.
But before you go wild at the meat counter, note that SFA doesn’t allow travellers to bring meat back from Malaysia, while seafood is capped at 5kg per person. So the free ice packs are strictly for your prawns, not your chicken wings. If you are organising a BBQ in JB, though, this is a good place to do your meat shopping.

The store also offers more than 20 free customer services on top of the groceries. Besides the ice packs, there’s a free drinks service where you can grab some water, which is handy when you’ve been pushing a fully loaded trolley.
The full list of services for the JB outlet hasn’t been confirmed yet, but ST Rosyam Mart’s other branches offer free trolley use, butcher services and powerbank loans, plus tyre inflators and car jumpers.
For Singaporeans who’ve made the JB run a regular thing, ST Rosyam Mart removes the most annoying part of it: having to go when everyone else does.
