Single’s Inferno Season 5 iconic moments
Single’s Inferno 5 has just finished with a bang, and as an avid watcher of all 5 seasons, I think it’s safe to conclude that this one has been the most chaotic one yet. Whether you love or hate the cast – ahem, Mina Sue, ahem – we’ve gotta give it to them for keeping us shocked, confused, and absolutely hooked, from start to finish. As we gear up for their reunion this Valentine’s Day, here’s a look back at Season 5’s most iconic moments.
1. Choi Mina Sue’s yellow dress

Let’s begin with the season’s most talked-about outfit – Choi Mina Sue’s yellow dress. NGL, the effect this dress had on the male contestants needs to be studied, because it left everyone from Su-been to Seung-il fawning over her.
If you want to purchase this stunning number for yourself, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s not a pricey luxury item. Netizens have discovered that it’s Zara’s Satin Midi Dress ($75.90), which was actually going on sale for just $19.90 on the brand’s SG site. Unfortunately, it’s currently out of stock online.
2. The “Jae-jin walk”

If Mina Sue’s walk-in was the most memorable amongst the girls, then Jae-jin’s was definitely the most iconic amongst the guys. Now labelled the “Jae-jin walk”, the cast member’s hilarious stance – with his slightly hunched posture and arms behind his back – defo left the strongest impression on both the viewers and panellists alike.
3. “Who am I? I’m Choi Mina Sue!”

Who is she? She’s Choi Mina Sue – and she made damn sure that we all knew it by the end of season 5. Of course, we’re referencing Mina Sue’s hilarious monologue here, when she went on a full-on rant in the girls room about how Su-been kept hanging out with Hee-sun. This clip became one of S5’s most memeable and hated on moments, but in her defense, we guess we’d be pretty pressed if our crush gave his hoodie to another girl too.

Since we’re talking about Mina Sue’s most meme-worthy scenes, we’ll leave these priceless screenshots of her expressions from the messy campfire episode here too.
4. Choi Mina Sue’s trio

Season 5 brought us a bunch of exhilarating game scenes, but our favourite ones might just be of Choi Mina Sue’s trio. In episode 7, our self-proclaimed lucky gal Mina got grouped with 2 of her love interests, Sung-hun and Seung-il, to play a heart-fluttering game where cast members had to balance on a tiny wooden board. Honestly, we don’t even have to explain why Choi Mina Sue’s trio was so iconic – the poses in the above pictures speak for themselves.
5. “It’s you. YOU!”

A fan-fave line from all of season 5 has got to be Min-gee’s bold confession to Seung-il: “It’s you, you!”. For context, our resident “go-getter” girl whispered this to her man right after he confessed that he had interest in going to paradise with Mina Sue, whom he was curious about, as well. As a viewer, it was one of the most touching yet heartbreaking scenes from the campfire episode – we’ll give props to Min-gee for staying loyal to Seung-il despite it all.
6. Mina Sue & Seung-il x Hee-sun & Su-been’s double date

Out of all of S5’s paradise trips, this one – with Mina Sue, Seung-il, Hee-sun and Su-been’s bowling date – has got to be the most awkward. If season 3 had ex-contestant Min-ji crying on the helicopter when Gwan-hee went to paradise with Hye-seon, then season 5 has Mina Sue giving major side-eye to Su-been and Hee-sun on their way back to inferno.
Honestly, sitting through the quartet’s double date was painful; we had Hee-sun scoring strikes, and a stressed-out Mina Sue missing all her shots. Plus, poor Seung-il was pretty much fourth-wheeling the entire time.
7. Go-eun & I-geon’s pool scene

Since we talked about S5’s most painful paradise trip, we’ve got to mention the hottest one too. Of all the paradise clips, Go-eun and I-geon’s pool scene was hands-down the most memorable. The duo’s face cards were insane in this scene, and their tense K-drama-worthy convo from two ends of the pool left even the panellists smiling to themselves the entire time.
8. Hyeon-woo forfeiting his trip to paradise

The true test of loyalty on Single’s Inferno is who you pick to go to paradise with. And in most cases, if your top pick has already been swiped by another contestant, you’ll simply have to settle for your second choice. Hyeon-woo, however, proved that true loyalty is forfeiting paradise altogether – and yes, he’s apparently the first contestant to ever do so.
Considering that this clearly got his crush, Go-eun, thinking about him the entire helicopter ride, we’ll say it’s a win in his books.
9. Sam Lee finally revealing his job

For 8 episodes straight, we only knew Sung-hun, AKA Samuel Lee, as this boyish, bilingual contestant who uses the word “bro” a little too much. But since his job reveal in episode 9, netizens have been seeing him in a completely different light. As it turns out, Sung-hun is a high-flying quantitative trader in NYC, making him potentially the richest contestant on the show.
For the uninitiated, quant traders are said to earn a base pay of at least USD 200,000 a year, but this can go up to 7 figures. What’s more, there are even rumours that he’s the grandson of former South Korean president Lee Myung-bak.
10. Episode 4’s legendary photoshoot challenge

Fan-fave photos from the episode.

Single’s Inferno’s rowdier games like mud wrestling and rope pulling might get the most buzz, but our personal favourite was this season’s couple photoshoot challenge. The goal of the contest was to get the hottest photos, and pretty much every cast member delivered.
Once again, lucky girl Mina Sue gets paired with 2 guys!

Of course, lucky girl Mina Sue paired up with both Sung-hun and Sung-min for this, while Hee-sun and Su-been had their first real moment together during the challenge.

Even the more unlikely couples, like Joo-young and Hyeon-woo, ended up with swoon-worthy pictures.
Which was your favourite moment from Single’s Inferno 5?
From start to finish, Single’s Inferno 5 most definitely entertained us with the most unexpected plot twists the reality show has had to date. Now that it’s over, we’re honestly pretty sad that we won’t have new episodes to binge every Tuesday night – but, as a little consolation, at least we have these funny moments to look back on.
