Table of Contents
Singapore Night Festival is an annual free-to-enter art event that showcases stunning light works done by local and international artists. It typically takes place in the end of August to early September period every year, in the Bugis and Bras Basah precinct.
Up till 2023, the festival typically took place over 2 weekends, but for this and last year’s edition, it’s been extended to a 3-week affair, so you’ll have more time to explore the installations.
Singapore Night Festival 2025 will feature a total of 2 highlight experiences, 13 projection mapping and light installations, 3 festival villages, 6 SG60-themed activations, and a variety of performances and programmes to attend. If you’re unsure of where to begin, here are some of our fave attractions this year.
2 must-see installations are SNF 2025’s highlight experiences – Sky Castle at Cathay Green, and Kampong Chill at Capitol Singapore.
You’ll be able to spot Sky Castle the minute you exit Dhoby Ghaut station. This dreamy installation, created by art studio ENESS, features giant arches with rainbow lights that change colours and play calming tunes as visitors meander their way around.
Do note that you’ll have to pay a $5 entry fee to explore this installation, but it’s well worth the cash if you’re looking to snap that cover image-worthy IG pic.
Meanwhile, over at Capitol Singapore, you’ll get to do exactly as artists Yok & Sheryo intend – chillax, – as you visit their installation Kampong Chill.
This zen pavilion serves as a respite from the busy city; with comfy beach chairs, stools, and even an old-school TV playing relaxing clips for visitors to enjoy.
The installation is described as a gentle rebellion against our busy lives, so look out for neon signs flashing quotes like “kampung state of mind” and “balance is key” while you’re there.
One of our favourite parts of Singapore Night Festival 2025 was seeing the familiar buildings around town be transformed by stunning projection mapping art works. There are 6 installations to look out for in total.
At the National Museum of Singapore, you’ll get to feast your eyes on a stunning light spectacle by Jérémie Bellot. Titled MOSAIC, this light projection takes visitors on a trippy voyage through time, with vibrant images of constellations and seas.
Meanwhile, there are 4 projection mapping works to catch at CHIJMES.
Dari Pulau Ke Pulau (left), Roadside beauties and healing remedies (right).
These include Dari Pulau Ke Pulau (From One Island to Another) by HAFI, a light show following the artist’s reflections on migration; Awakening by Tororo.aoi, an exploration of SG’s diversity and history; Island Waters by Lim KangLi, celebrating our local marine life; and Roadside beauties and healing remedies by Adeline, which pays tribute to our underrated traditional medicines and herbs.
Next up, light installations. These are your best bet for peak Instagram photo ops, with 7 to explore in total.
Right outside Raffles City, you’ll find Two Sides of Our Island by LABSIXFIVE, an interactive installation celebrating our ever-evolving city.
It features 3 picture-perfect photo spots, including a trippy infinity room with full-length mirrors, and even a convex mirror, for group selfies with your besties.
There’s also an installation outside Plaza Singapura, titled CYBERSWORDFISH V2.0: From Myth to Megabytes by Yang Derong.
This neon artwork showcases a swordfish sculpture made from e-waste like keyboards and wires, encouraging viewers to reflect on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
If you’ve got kiddos, you’ll want to bring them to Funan Kinetic Wall to see KU a Dreamer by Tùng Monkey. This whimsical installation features KU and his box of dreams, alongside Funan’s giant light wall that changes patterns and colours with the press of a button.
Further down at Peranakan Museum is Skygazers: Dreaming into the Past and Future by Space Objekt x Reza Hasni, another Instagrammable paradise.
This magical installation features a rainbow light projection on the museum’s facade, and an eye-catching 3-layered neon installation to walk through.
Look closely, and you’ll notice that the panels are designed with traditional patterns and Peranakan motifs.
Nearby at Armenian Street, Jiwa Laut by Kai Ting and Boon showcases a sea of illuminated crab sculptures, inspired by Southeast Asian crab folklore.
BTW, these new artworks aren’t all the installations there are at Singapore Night Festival 2025. There are also 7 National Day activations, spanning from The Cathay all the way to Stamford Walkway.
One of our favourites is A River Reborn at Stamford Walkway, a photogenic installation featuring adorable projections of wildlife like otters and birds.
