Running along the smooth paths of Singapore, listening to great music and just having the time of your life admiring the scenery…this is a blessing most of us can enjoy. Whether it’s a Nike Free or an Adidas Ultraboost, the joy of purchasing a new shoe is a privilege that many don’t think twice about.
But with time, things will wither away, and our brand new shoes will soon be worn out. Instead of throwing our old but still usable running shoes out, consider breathing new life into your old shoes by giving them to those in need.
Running shoes and lifestyle shoes that look like running shoes are eligible for donation, however, canvas shoes like Converse or Vans are not accepted.
If you have old running shoes at home that are collecting dust, you can donate them to Soles4Souls, a non-profit organisation that repurposes them for a good cause with Project Love Sneaker.

You’ll be providing for the less fortunate in Singapore and overseas who may not have proper footwear and helping some break the cycle of poverty from the sale of second-hand shoes. Plus, you’ll also be saving the environment by keeping your old shoes out of the landfill.
As the cherry on top, you can get a $50 Running Lab voucher when you donate from now till 31st March 2021.
The vouchers can be used to purchase any regular-priced running shoes at all Running Lab stores in Singapore. So if you have an old pair lying around that is still in acceptable condition – usable without missing parts or holes -, you can get a new one for less while knowing that your old shoes will be put to good use.

Unlike Singapore, many countries do not have well-paved roads and proper running tracks. For those living in poverty, they have to deal with walking on rough, pot-hole infested streets with bad shoes or even none at all.
