9 Best Merch To Cop At The New Sanrio Store In Chinatown

Sanrio store Chinatown

Cute is back, with the launch of Sanrio Superstar Boutique at Universal Studios Singapore (USS), POP MART CRYBABY at Singapore Oceanarium, and Disney Adventure’s Sentosa takeover. You don’t even have to leave the mainland to catch up with the cutesies, because the latest Sanrio store is now open in Chinatown.

If you’ve been meaning to check them out, here’s the best – and Singapore-exclusive – merch you can get at this new Chinatown Sanrio store:

1. Character badges

One of the first things you’ll see upon entering the shop is shelves of extra cute character badges that bring together icons of Singapore and Sanrio’s lineup of characters.

Priced at 3 for $10, these badges scream Singapore, from tourist-coded “I love SG” ones to others starring some of our favourite hawker dishes.

2. DIY Sanrio keychains

For something more customisable, head to the middle of the store for the Sanrio keychain bar, where you’ll find DIY Sanrio keychains with a buffet of Jibbitz-inspired studs. You can pick from the small name plate (from $15), big name plate (from $23), or a pencil case (from $29) – though only the small name plate comes in Singapore-exclusive designs.

The fun part is picking the studs to fill up your choice of base; there are more than 16 locally inspired studs to pick from. If you’re just looking at the studs, they cost $2 each.

3. Singapore-special canvas totes

We’re absolutely digging the Singapore-exclusive merch at this new Sanrio store, and another item you’ll want to pick up are the Singapore-special canvas totes, which come in 6 different designs.

The bags don’t get more iconic than these: there’s the Singapore skyline, Hello Kitty and friends playing chess at a HDB void deck chess table, and another where the characters are seated at an old-school orange-and-white-striped bus stop.

Flip the bags over, and you’ll find equally adorable scenes: Hello Kitty and friends asking each other, “Can?”, “Can hor?” and such familiar phrases, as well as chasing after the bus they missed.

Our favourite, though, has to be the baby blue Cinammaroll bag featuring chicken rice, ice kachang, kaya toast, plus a water bottle and brolly to “Chope!” as the bag states, the table.

4.  Sanrio x Mr Merlion & Friends blind box keychains

We’ve been seeing Mr Merlion & Friends around, for example at the SimplyGo Adventure Quest pop-up at Bugis+. At the new Sanrio store in Chinatown, you’ll find Sanrio x Mr Merlion & Friends blind box keychains, priced at $23.

Like almost everything else in the Sanrio store, you get bulk buy prices – if you buy 3 blind boxes, they’ll be $19 each; this drops to $15 each if you get 6.

5. Sanrio macarons

At this Chinatown store, you can have your cake and eat it too. Not only can you bring home any number of Sanrio merch that you can keep forever, you can also cop the cutest macarons in town. There are 8 designs to choose from, in flavours such as vanilla caramel, Oreo cheesecake, strawberry, Valrhona dark chocolate, and mango.

Unfortunately, you can’t buy these macarons in single pieces. They come in boxes of 4 ($34) or 8 ($68). They’re not cheap, but each macaron is pretty large.

6. T-shirts

Wear your Sanrio bias with pride – and love for your country too – with one of their Singapore-exclusive T-shirts. Adult tees are $35 each, while kid tees are $29. These are sold at bulk buy rates too.

P.S.: With National Day 2026 coming up, this is your chance to stand up for Singapore, Sanrio style.

7. Notepads & accessories from $5

You’re not screaming, we are. And with Term 3 of the 2026 academic year just around the corner, it’s time to give the kiddos’ study desks, and perhaps even your office desk too, a Sanrio glow-up. Cue these uber cute Sanrio notepads and sticky notes (2 for $10) that’ll make life that much brighter.

We love the Chope! And Bo jio…? variants, complete with Hello Kitty tissue packet illustrations. Who knows, you might find yourself using these to chope your lunch seat!

Even if you don’t fancy having these magnets ($10) on your fridge, they make great souvenirs that you can buy for your visiting pals. Plus points for being the most space-efficient souvenirs around, unlike their bulkier counterparts.

Alternatively, consider buying a set of coasters ($10 each) that’ll make for an adorbs surprise when you pick up your cup for a drink.

Complete your Sanrio-coded NDP experience with a matching fan ($10).

8. Eco bags

Besides canvas bags, the Singapore-exclusive collection also has eco bags, and you’ll truly want to cop these foldable baggies too, since they come in different designs than the canvas ones.

They’re also cheaper, at $10 each, and fold up into nifty little pocket-sized packages.

9. Mugs & plushies

Besides all of the Singapore exclusives, this Chinatown store also stocks a good variety of other Sanrio goods as well, including mugs ($35), plates ($35) and plushies ($71).

There are also mini backpacks that will look super kawaii on younger children, and melamine plateware that they can dine off, in case you don’t want to let them use the breakable glass versions.

Bonus: Sanrio-themed photobooth

Don’t miss the Sanrio photobooth when you visit – the Solace Studios set-up is programmed with Sanrio frames! Each session will set you back $10, and you have to pay by cash. Do note that the machine does not dispense any change, so come prepared.

Pick up Singapore-exclusive Sanrio merch in Chinatown

Sanrio fans, this is one store you won’t want to miss. Its exterior is done up to fit right with its Chinatown locale too, with Sanrio and Singapore written in old-school Chinese text on the pillars outside.

We hear that the range of Singapore-exclusive merch is not fully available yet – we stan this excuse to make another trip down soon. Psst, apply for an Aleta x Sanrio debit card in the meantime to make your purchases with!
