This Walkathon Takes You Through 3 RWS Attractions Before The Crowds, Join A Breakfast Rave Too

Steps of Hope Walkathon at RWS Cares Festival

Keeping fit is the name of the game these days, with everyone picking up pilates, running, or joining the HYROX craze. Sometimes, though, you just need to start small, and perhaps even get the kids in on the fitspo train. Why not make it a fun one, then, and do your part for charity at the RWS Cares Festival Steps of Hope Walkathon?

When is the Steps of Hope Walkathon?

Taking place on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, the Steps of Hope Walkathon flags off from 7am for the first wave of walkers, and 8am for the second.

It’s part of a 2-day festival happening that weekend – that is, 22nd to 23rd August, where 100% of ticket proceeds from the walkathon will be donated towards the President’s Challenge, with Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) matching every dollar raised during the entire festival.

What can I expect at the walkathon?

Walk around 3 RWS attractions before hours

You don’t have to worry that the walkathon is going to cover some insane distance; it’s a very manageable 1.4km route that will take you through 3 iconic RWS attractions: Universal Studios Singapore (USS), part of the Singapore Oceanarium, and Adventure Cove Waterpark. The route will also take you through WEAVE, the island’s latest lifestyle destination.

That’s not quite the most exciting thing, in our opinion – the best part is that you’ll be entering these attractions before any of them opens at 10am.

Read: you’ll get to walk through part of these attractions, sans rides of course, before anyone else!

Meet >20 characters

Although you can’t take any of the rides – it’s a walkathon after all – what will make the experience extra fun is the characters that you’ll meet along the way. We’re talking friendly Illumination’s Minions, Dreamworks Animations’ friendly Kung Fu Panda and friends, as well as Shrek, the Transformers Bumble Bee, and even your favourite pals from the Sesame Street friends.

P.S. We hear that Twinkle Twinkle from POP MART, as well as the Singapore Oceanarium’s adorable manta ray and hammerhead shark mascots, will be popping by too!

Breakfast rave with live music

It’s not a party without a rave, and this family-friendly walkathon ends with just that, at a very wholesome hour of the morning, complete with DJ Jasmine Red spinning mainstream EDM hits on the deck.

Free entry to Adventure Cove Waterpark for the day

adventure cove

After all of that walking and partying at the Steps of Hope Walkathon, what you need is a proper cool-down. You’d be happy to know, then, that your walkathon ticket comes with free entry to the Adventure Cove Waterpark for the entire day.

You read that right – your walkathon ticket comes with the character meets, breakfast party, and a full day of fun in the sun.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are now available at early bird rates, valid while stocks last: $80 for adults, and $70 for kids aged 4 to 12. Thereafter, the prices will go up to $85 for adults, and $75 for children. Get your tickets on the RWS Steps of Hope website.

If you’re checking out with a Mastercard, use the code <MC5OFF> for an extra $5 off.

Don’t forget that every dollar that you’re paying for the ticket goes to the President’s Charity, a national movement that seeks to unite the community to uplift aspirations, empower lives, and foster a culture of unity and respect.

In fact, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam himself will be the Guest of Honour at the opening day of the RWS Cares Festival, AKA when the walkathon is taking place.

What else is happening?

Green Living Fair

In between the Adventure Cove Waterpark-ing and walkathon-ing, don’t miss the Green Living Fair that’s also happening that day and the next, at the RWS Research and Learning Centre. At this fair, you’ll find local brands’ and social enterprises’ eco-friendly products, as well as hands-on workshops, interactive booths, and performances by artists of all abilities.

Spend the day at RWS

While you’re at Resorts World Sentosa, take the chance to pamper yourself with tasty nosh and activities for the entire fam. You could perhaps kick things off with a breakfast pastry set at Pierre Herme Paris Singapore, and catch lunch at casual French diner Moutarde to keep up with the Parisien theme.

Check out the wares at adidas, or indulge in some retail therapy at BIRKENSTOCK before heading to Dopamine Land for – you guessed it, a dopamine rush.

Otherwise, send your littles to Dopamine Land white you sit back and chill at BODHI Spa, before reconvening for dinner at QUAN Hotpot.

Walk for charity at the RWS Cares Festival

Remember, RWS is going to match every dollar that’s been raised from the entire RWS Cares Festival, and the Steps of Hope Walkathon is just one part of it. This year, RWS is supporting the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore), TomoWork, and MILK (Mainly I Love Kids), where funds will go towards supporting persons on the autism spectrum, youths-at-risk, and persons with disabilities in their education and employment.

More than just a fun day out for the fam, you can take this opportunity to walk for good, and raise awareness for the cause, too.
