3. Oxwell & Co.

Founded by the Brits themselves, Oxwell & Co. has nailed the classic British restaurant-pub concept. Feast on their must-try Bangers & Mash ($19) or some good ole Crusty Bread & Butter ($8) while engaging in some witty banter with bae.  

With dainty English lamps and plush blue sofas, the dining hall at Oxwell & Co. is known for its rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Nature-loving couples can dine at the aptly-named Botanico, located in a colonial building in the heart of Botanic Gardens. While you’ve probably heard of restaurants like Food for Thought or Halia, Botanico @ The Garage is a new addition to the few eateries in the Gardens.

We all know Gillman Barracks as that aesthetic place hipsters go to for obscure art exhibitions, but very few know this hidden gem. Masons dwells in a colonial-style building, with a distinct monochrome colour scheme. 

Enjoy a 5-course meal at $75++ per person in this low-key restaurant with your other half this Valentine’s. It may be a little out of the way, but definitely worth the travel if you want to escape the crowd!
