19 New Cafes & Restaurants In September 2026 – Korean Pub With Firepits & Bakery With $2.20 Pastries

New cafes & restaurants in Singapore 2026

From a Michelin-starred LA import finally landing at ION Orchard to a fire station turned Texas smokehouse, here’s where to eat around Singapore this September.

September 2026

1. LINKUS

Authentic Fujian Minnan cuisine

Taking over from Imperial Treasure Fine Shanghai Cuisine on the 4th floor of Ngee Ann City is LINKUS, another famed F&B name from China. This comes after their first outlet in Suntec City, with the same gilded, traditional decor and smells of herbs wafting throughout the space. These come from pots of soup simmering at the reception counter – the outlet-exclusive offering of Minnan Nourishing Sea Eel Soup ($359) is one.

Don’t miss their signature dish, Quanzhou Duck with Tough Ginger ($42.90/$79.90) – also our favourite – with lobes of abalone, and Dahongpao Sichuan Peppercorn Braised Ningde Yellow Croaker ($55). For a real treat, get their showstopping Hokkien Rice Cake Steamed with Mud Crab ($89/$169), where meaty crab with roe is steamed atop fragrant glutinous rice.

To finish, you must order yourself a serving of Taro Paste with Bird’s Nest in Coconut Cup ($25.90), which we think might be the smoothest, most decadent rendition of this dessert we’ve ever had.

2. Seasonal Tastes at The Westin

Newly renovated & an expanded buffet spread

Seafood on ice and fresh sashimi.
Image adapted from: Wei Yin

Seasonal Tastes at The Westin Singapore now features a refreshed dining space and an expanded spread to match. Beyond buffet staples, there’s also a popiah station in partnership with Kway Guan Huat Joo Chiat Popiah, a handmade popiah skin business in Singapore since 1938. You can also DIY your own rojak, or head to the laksa station and customise your bowl with as many prawns, fishballs, and other ingredients as you like.

Remember to save room for dessert – the spread includes cookies, pastries, ice cream, Nyonya kueh, cakes, puddings and more, so you’ll probably want to make a few rounds before calling it a day.

The Lunchtastic Buffet is priced at $64/adult and $34/child from Monday to Thursday, and $78/adult and $34/child from Friday to Sunday. Those looking for something more indulgent can go for the Seafood Dinner Buffet, available daily from 6pm to 10pm, priced at $128/adult and $55/child.

3. rei at Le Jardin, Raffles Sentosa

Janice Wong’s new confectionery brand with no refined sugar

Chef-artist Janice Wong is billing rei as Asia’s first chef-led wellness confectionery brand, built on 1 uncompromising rule: no refined sugar and no artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols like erythritol and maltitol. The recipes just have raw honey, maple syrup, dates, and whole fruit doing the sweetening instead.

The name nods to the Japanese words for “zero” and “gratitude”, and this September, it makes its Singapore debut through an exclusive dessert menu at Le Jardin, Raffles Sentosa Spa’s plant- and protein-forward restaurant on Sentosa.

The brand actually launches with 2 collections: rei plant, a fully plant-based line with creations like Coconut Dandelion and Açaí Goji chocolates; and the signature rei collection, which allows for honey, eggs, and dairy for a broader range of textures, including a Bee Pollen chocolate.

At Le Jardin specifically, expect 3 signature creations built to close out a spa visit on a lighter note: a Honey Basque Cheesecake sweetened with raw honey, an Olive Oil Lemon Myrtle Cake, and a 100% Dark Chocolate Water Mousse Tart.

4. Osteria Mozza

New flagship space at ION Orchard

Nearly 15 years after first landing here, Osteria Mozza has packed up its old digs and opened on Level 3 of ION Orchard. It’s the only Asian outpost of chef Nancy Silverton’s Michelin-starred Cal-Italian concept, and this year alone she’s picked up the 2026 James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award, so the woman knows her way around a menu.

Making its Singapore debut is the Pizza alla Pala(from $25), a paddle-shaped Roman-style pizza with a light, airy crumb built for sharing. New flavours include Spicy Tomato and Potato, alongside old favourites like Fennel Sausage and BLT reworked into the format.

If you’re swinging by on a weekday, the Piadina (from $20) is a lunch-only pick, essentially Osteria Mozza’s pizza dough folded over sando-style with fillings like Chicken Milanese or Steak with caramelised onions.

5. Decker Barbecue

New flagship home at Old Bukit Timah Fire Station

Decker Barbecue has traded its original Robertson Quay spot for something with a lot more history: the old Bukit Timah Fire Station, where firefighters used to bunk. The new flagship is built around a 14-foot Texan offset smoker, the only AN Bewley smoker in Southeast Asia, so meats get smoked low and slow for up to 12 hours.

The menu’s tripled in size across lunch, brunch, and dinner. Weekday lunch brings the Rendang Brisket Rice Bowl ($20), smoked brisket folded through rendang sauce over dirty basmati rice. Weekend brunch is where things get playful, with a Shrimp & Grits ($26) that nods to Cantonese porridge, and a Bacon & Brisket Cinnamon Scroll ($8) dusted with five spice.

Come dinner, it’s all about the build-your-own platters, from a solo set at $40 up to a $288 spread for 6, plus a showstopping Firehouse Dino Meat Pizza Pie ($88) topped with a whole dino rib.

6. Kimpson’s Table

Korean comfort food

Chef Patrick Kim spent a decade cooking for Singapore’s Korean community before finally opening his first brick-and-mortar restaurant at Far East Square. Kimpson’s Table started life as a home-based delivery business, and the signature Samgyetang ($18), a half French chicken simmered for 5 hours with ginseng and red dates, is still the draw.

New on the menu is the Dak Kalguksu ($15), hand-cut wheat noodles in that same restorative broth, which Chef Kim describes as the Korean cousin of ban mee. There’s a dry, spicier version too in the Dak Bibim Kalguksu ($15), tossed in a house-made gochujang sauce. Round things out with the Bburinkle Cheese Boneless Fried Chicken ($17) or a Cheese Potato Pancake ($14), and you’ve got a proper Hansang-style spread.

Unwind after hours with crispy fried chicken & craft beers

Image adapted from: @kiapkiap.sg via Instagram

If your idea of a good night out involves fried chicken that outlasts last call, Kiap Kiap Chicken Club & Bar has your back. Tucked into Liang Seah Street, this fried chicken-and-cocktails joint is built for the nights that run long, staying open till 1am on weekdays and 2am on weekends.

The bird comes in 6 ways, from the $12 original secret-recipe fried chicken to a Mentaiko Fried Chicken With Ikura ($18) and a Duck Fat Mala Fried Chicken ($14) for those who like a numbing kick. Beyond the chicken, there’s Jenny’s Udon (from $12), a Special Fried Rice (from $18) with crispy rice bits, and a King’s Truffle Poutine ($20) loaded with beef gravy and parmesan for soaking up the drinks.

8. Casa Lola

New casual Spanish restaurant inspired by Barcelona’s bodegas

Image adapted from: Casa Lola

FOC Group’s newest concept trades fine dining for the loose, come-as-you-are energy of a Spanish neighbourhood bodega. Casa Lola is co-founded by Barcelona-born Chef Juanjo Carrillo and his wife Marcela Pino, and named after his grandmother Lola, whose family-run venta in Jumilla shaped his earliest food memories.

Start with the Salmorejo Chilled Tomato Soup ($14), topped with Ibérico ham and boiled egg, or the Crispy Suckling Pig Ear With Smoked Paprika Aioli ($15), a proper tavern classic that’s a rare find here. For mains, the Crispy Deboned Suckling Pig ($36) is slow-cooked overnight, while seasonal paellas are built on Molino Roca “Dinamita” rice from Valencia, cooked until you get that coveted crispy socarrat base.

House wine comes from wooden barrels and Spanish porrones, with sangria served in terracotta jugs.

9. Cloudmills

More than 25 sweet & savoury daily bakes from $2.20

Cloudmills, Cloud Restaurant Group’s first bakery concept, has opened its Claymore Road counter serving over 25 sweet and savoury bakes built across 5 core doughs: doughnut, sankaku salt bread, madeleine, laminated pastry, and shokupan. MasterChef Singapore runner-up Genevieve Lee came on board as bakery consultant to develop the line-up.

Not every doughnut here is sweet either: the Pan con Tomate ($6.90) goes savoury with tomato-garlic paste, white anchovies and sea salt. Other standouts include the Unagi Moon ($7.20), a sankaku shiopan layered with tamagoyaki, grilled unagi and soy-marinated egg yolk; and the Banh Mi ($6.90), stuffed with lemongrass pork belly and pâté. It’s takeaway-only, with a handful of alfresco seats made from beer crates and camping chairs out front.

10. LingZhi Greens

New home at Palais Renaissance with new plant-based dishes

Long-time regulars will remember LingZhi, which has served Chinese vegetarian food since 1991. Now rebranded as LingZhi Greens at a new Palais Renaissance home, it’s moved away from processed mock meats entirely, building dishes instead from premium vegetables, wild mushrooms and organic produce, led by Executive Chef Michael Huang, formerly of Michelin-starred vegetarian restaurant Wujie in Shanghai.

The Sweet & Sour Lotus Roots Ribs ($22) swaps pork for lotus root and crispy you tiao to mimic the crunch of the original dish, while the ‘Mapo’ Tofu With Peach Gum In Stone Pot ($24) uses gelatinous peach gum in place of meat. Old favourites are still around too, like the Wasabi-Mayo Monkey Head Mushroom($28) served inside a hollowed-out dragon fruit.

The new space draws on Song Dynasty aesthetics, all muted tones and timber screens, with original artwork lining the walls.

11. RITUEL TOKYO

Signature tableside dessert wagon with a selection of Brioche Flower Donuts

Image adapted from: @rituel_singapore via Instagram

Tokyo-born RITUEL picked Singapore as its first stop outside Japan, opening at Takashimaya. The brand brings a French salon de thé-inspired menu built around viennoiserie, tea and all-day dining.

The Signature Layer Croissant, made with 36 delicate layers and developed specifically for our humidity, leads the pastry counter, while the dining menu folds bakery craft into savoury plates like the Japanese Egg Danish Sandwich and Wagyu Roast Beef Danish Sandwich.

The BOUQUET Afternoon Tea ($118) is exclusive to the Singapore outpost, served tableside off a dessert wagon with Brioche Flower Donuts and Signature Parfaits. Round it off with a Chocolate Chaud made from Valrhona chocolate, or a house-roasted coffee blend developed with Dutch Colony Coffee.

12. Kee’s Restaurant & Bar

Tucked inside a beautifully restored former remittance house dating back to 1936

Kee’s, the restaurant inside heritage boutique hotel 21 Carpenter, has quietly shifted gears. What launched in 2024 as a modern European bistro with Pan-Asian touches has rebranded into a full modern Asian restaurant and bar, with Culinary Director Andrew Walsh of Michelin-starred Cure behind the new menu.

The space itself still nods to its past as the Chye Hua Seng Wee Kee remittance house, a 1936 building where early immigrants once sent money home, done up by WOHA in 1930s Art Deco style.

Small plates lean local, like the Kiam Chye Baby Gem Salad ($20) with salted mustard greens and crispy white bait, or the ‘Bebek Goreng’ Spring Roll ($18) filled with spiced duck and pork. Mains include a 24-hour Braised Beef Cheek Rendang ($34) and an Ikan Bakar ($45, serves 2), while dessert closes things out with a Cham-Misu ($17), tiramisu reimagined with teh peng and kopi mascarpone.

13. The City Bakery

NYC bakery that became famous in Japan & is now in SG

The City Bakery started out as a small neighbourhood bakery in New York back in 1990, and while the original outlet has long since closed, the brand found a second life across Japan, where it now runs over 40 outlets. Its first Southeast Asia stop, which opened at Mandarin Gallery, brings both a bakery counter and a separate dine-in restaurant under the “Pan No Mi” concept.

The signature Pretzel Croissant ($5) is the one to try first, laminated croissant dough with a savoury pretzel crust instead of the usual butter finish. Beyond that, there’s a Sausage Danish ($6.20), a Coffee Cinnamon Roll ($5) that’s less sweet than you’d expect, and a Mixed Berry Scone ($5) baked closer to a New York-style drop scone than the crumbly English kind. If you’re settling in, the Hot Chocolate With Marshmallow ($8.70) comes with a house-made marshmallow that melts straight into the cup.

14. Miura

Hidden matcha & wagashi stand tucked inside a Joo Chiat boutique

Image adapted from: @miura.sg via Instagram

You’d walk straight past Miura if you didn’t know to look for it. The new Japanese tea and wagashi cafe, opened by the team behind Paaru, is tucked towards the back of In Good Company’s newly opened 3-storey shophouse on Joo Chiat Road, past the racks of womenswear and homeware.

The Matcha (from $7.50) is whisked to order and leans umami-forward with a pleasantly bitter finish, while the Oolong Pear Cold Brew With Cheese Cloud ($10) comes topped with a thick, unsweetened cheese foam.

On the wagashi side, the Signature Fruit Daifuku ($7) wraps a whole Japanese strawberry and lotus paste in chewy mochi skin, and the Coconut Warabimochi ($6) takes cues from ondeh ondeh, finished with gula melaka syrup.

15. Après Gelato by Le Matin Patisserie

Sister concept of Le Matin Petit

Image adapted from: @apresgelato.sg via Instagram

2 years after closing his ION Orchard space, pastry chef Mohamed Al-Matin returned this April with Le Matin Petit, a pared-back, takeaway-first patisserie in Buona Vista. Après Gelato is the dessert-led sister concept that takes over the same space later in the day, turning the focus to small-batch gelato.

The flavour rotation leans experimental: think Brown Butter Jerusalem Artichoke, finished with a toasted artichoke chip, or a Toasted Rice flavour topped with a puffed rice crisp. A single scoop is $6, a double $11, and it’s worth pairing with the Brown Butter Waffles ($6) if you want something more substantial.

For a proper dessert course, the Sticky Date Toffee Parfait ($13) layers vanilla soft serve over date sponge cake and salted date toffee, finished with caramelised pecans.

16. Jeju Haenyo

Open-air Korean pub inspired by the fire pits Jeju’s women divers gather around

Jeju Haenyo already runs an immersive indoor dining experience inside The Arts House, built around Jeju Island’s haenyeo, the women who free-dive for seafood without oxygen tanks. Its 2nd concept in the same building takes that story outdoors: a courtyard pub modelled on the bulteok, the stone fire pits where the divers would gather to warm up after a dive.

Most of the menu is designed to be finished at your table. The Jijim ($25), a Korean pan-fried pancake, arrives as raw batter for you to cook on a hot griddle yourself; while the Dosegi Ssam ($20) comes with gochujang-glazed pork and lettuce for DIY wraps. Drinks are the real draw here though, with highballs going for just $8 and cocktails like the sea-inspired Bada ($17) rounding out the list.

17. MUKAI

Tokyo’s cult kaisendon specialist opens its 1st overseas outlet

Shibuya’s MUKAI is known for piling seafood impossibly high over rice, and this Plaza Singapura opening marks the brand’s 1st venture outside Japan. Rather than the usual term kaisendon, Mukai calls its bowls Kaiho Don, meaning “sea treasure”, with fish flown in directly to keep the taste consistent with the original.

Bowls range from the entry-level Kaiho Don Nami ($28.90) up to the limited Kaiho Don Goku Goku ($79.90), capped at 30 servings a day and loaded with premium cuts of maguro. There’s a 2-part eating ritual worth knowing about: work through the sashimi cold first, then ask for the dashi pour-over service to turn what’s left of the rice and toppings into a warm bowl of ochazuke.

18. Katsu by Kyu

Singapore’s first restaurant dedicated to Jeju pork tonkatsu

Katsu by Kyu is staking a fairly specific claim: it’s the only restaurant here specialising in tonkatsu made with Jeju Island pork. The cutlets go through a 10-day dry-age before getting finished over rice-straw charcoal, and even the rice gets the specificity treatment, sourced from Incheon and cooked in traditional iron pots.

The Central Cut Premium Jeju Loin ($42) is the splurge-worthy order, dry-aged for extra depth with a shattering crust. If you’d rather keep things leaner, the Tenderloin And Kadaif Prawn ($32) pairs a leaner cutlet with a crisp, shredded-pastry-wrapped prawn for contrast. The Cold Flat Udon ($18) makes a good lighter side if you’re not going all in on the pork.

19. Kali Kali

Handmade bagels with a salt bread-inspired crust

You wouldn’t expect to find serious bagels inside a food court, but Kali Kali, tucked into the Local Chapter food court at CT Hub 2 in Lavender, is worth the detour. Every bagel is handmade daily using halal-sourced ingredients, chewy without being dense, with a buttery crust that takes cues from the salt bread trend. Every schmear is made in-house too.

The Bagel & Schmear Set ($6.50) gets you 6 mini bagels paired with a rotating cast of schmears, the Cheddar With Caramelised Onion among the better ones. For something heartier, The Deli ($14) loads a single bagel with pastrami, caramelised onion cream cheese, and gherkin. Go before noon if you can, since the food court has no air-conditioning and fills up fast.

12. Noor

Mediterranean cuisine with subtle Japanese influences

Long dinners are kind of the point at NOOR, a new restaurant along Mohamed Sultan Road serving Mediterranean cuisine with subtle Japanese influences. Think creamy hummus enriched with miso, yuzu-infused labneh, and shawarma-spiced chicken wrapped in gyoza skins. The cosy 65-seater is designed for sharing plates and lingering conversations, with a hidden 10-seat izakaya tucked away for drinks after dinner.

Start with the fluffy Shok Bread ($16), served with tahini and matbucha for dipping, before moving on to standout small plates like the Hamachi Tartlet ($18), featuring Japanese amberjack with yuzu labneh; or the Maguro Harissa Crispy Rice ($21), where tuna tartare gets a spicy Mediterranean twist.

For mains, the Ebi Freekeh Risotto ($36) swaps traditional rice for nutty freekeh cooked in dashi, while the Miso Butter Fish ($39) pairs Mediterranean snapper with smoked corn miso beurre blanc. If you’re celebrating, splurge on the Mia Zaki ($68), starring A6 Miyazaki Wagyu with black truffle and foie gras sauce. End on a sweet note with the Labneh Cheesecake ($18), a Mediterranean spin on the Basque classic.

13. POP Bakery

Pop Mart’s blind-box characters now edible

POP Bakery, Pop Mart’s dessert concept, opened its first Southeast Asia outlet inside a 2-storey flagship at Resorts World Sentosa’s WEAVE, having previously only existed in China. The Singapore outlet is centred on Twinkle Twinkle, the brand’s rosy-cheeked star character, with cameos from Labubu, Molly, Dimoo, and Pucky across the dessert menu.

Grab-and-go treats include the Go Around With Twinkle Twinkle ($15), a Singapore-exclusive sea salt and coconut ice cream shaped around the Merlion, and the Twinkle Twinkle Twin Popsicle ($15), split into mango and creamy milk halves.

If you’re dining in at the 40-seat cafe, look out for the Pucky Xiao Long Bao ($18), a soup dumpling look-alike that’s actually soy milk panna cotta and ice cream underneath, or the Twinkle Twinkle Tangy Coconut Mousse ($18), styled after a coconut shell with popping boba inside.

Worth knowing: meet-and-greet sessions with the Twinkle Twinkle mascots require a dine-in reservation and a minimum spend of $40 per guest.

July 2026

1. Tiffany & Co. Blue Box Cafe

The luxury jewellery brand’s first-ever cafe concept in SG

If Breakfast at Tiffany’s has always been more of a vibe than an actual meal for you, that changes on 15th July. Tiffany & Co. is opening its first Blue Box Cafe in Singapore, tucked on the 3rd floor of the ION Orchard flagship. The whole space is done up in the house’s signature Tiffany Blue, which is exactly what you’d want from a jewellery-brand cafe.

The real draw is the menu, helmed by Julien Royer of 3-Michelin-starred Odette. Expect French classics with local inflexions; think Confit Yellow Chicken ($48), a claypot spin on chicken rice finished with a sake-seaweed beurre blanc, and the Alaskan Spot Prawn “Dumpling” ($34), a light ravioli built around prawn noodle broth. There’s also a Tiffany & Co. Burger ($34) with a Wagyu-Angus blend, and desserts like the SniX ($22) – a nod to Royer’s favourite American chocolate bars – and Tiffany Island ($22), a twist on Ile Flottante with Vanuatu vanilla.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s ($78/pax) here means a 2-tiered silver stand with viennoiseries, smoked trout, and Oeuf à la Coque topped with Oscietra caviar. It’s not cheap, but it’s also not trying to be.

2. Foura

Wellness-themed restaurant with a focus on healthy dishes

It’s giving Dempsey vibes with the convenience of a central location.
Image adapted from: Foura

Set within a glasshouse at the entrance of IMBA Theatre in Gardens by the Bay, Foura opened its doors on 9th July with a menu built around Blue Zones-inspired eating. What’s that, you ask? Basically, the dietary patterns found in regions known for longevity. That translates to grass-fed proteins, omega-rich seafood, and high-polyphenol olive oil – healthy stuff without skimping on flavour.

Signatures include the Burratina & Roasted Pumpkin ($28), layered with balsamic crema and Korean chilli oil, served with sourdough. For something heartier, go for the Shio Koji Rainbow Trout ($36) or the Patagonian Toothfish ($46), paired with a clam-kelp broth and sweet corn salsa.

If you’re not a huge fan of desserts that are too sweet, go for the light Soy Milk Panna Cotta ($18). It’s a nice blend of comforting tau huay (beancurd) topped with the novelty of black sesame crumble and date syrup.

Beyond the food, Foura will run weekly wellness programmes, like yoga, pilates, and maybe sound baths in the immersive theatre, so you can justify the indulgent brunch as part of a “holistic” lifestyle.

3. Madeleine’s Original Portuguese Egg Tart

Nostalgic Macau-style cha chaan teng

After a 26-year run and a tearful 2024 closure, Madeleine’s is back. And this time it’s not just a takeaway counter. Siblings Zac and Vernice Ong, both raised on the brand’s egg tarts, tracked down the original husband-and-wife owners and trained under them before reopening at Aperia Mall on 21st June as a full Macau-inspired cha chaan teng.

The signature egg tart ($2.50) is still made from scratch daily, plus there’s a localised gula melaka version if you want to get fancy.

But the real reason to sit down this time is the new menu: Minchee Rice ($10.90), a Macanese beef-and-pork ragu with a 63°C onsen egg, and Beef Stew Capellini ($9.90), which swaps the usual noodles for something springier. There’s also a pork chop bun ($5.90) with mustard seed sauerkraut, and crab congee ($8.90) for something lighter.

If you grew up on the original, expect a wave of nostalgia. The pastry’s crisp, flaky shell and silky custard haven’t changed one bit.

4. Tavola Aperta

Affordable handmade pasta under $20

From the team behind Salt & Soul comes Tavola Aperta, a casual Italian eatery at Plaza Singapura that opened its doors with a simple promise: every pasta under $20, handmade fresh daily. Leading the kitchen is Mark Tan, who spent 3 years at L.A.’s Felix Trattoria under James Beard-nominated Evan Funke.

Start with the Burrata with Roasted Grapes ($18.90) or Beef Ragu Arancini ($9.90); and if pizza’s more your speed, the sourdough dough here is cold-fermented for up to 72 hours. Try the Mushroom & Truffle ($21.90) or Gorgonzola Blue Cheese & Pork Sausage ($22.90).

When it comes to pasta, go for Chef Mark’s favourite, the Linguine Al Limone ($15.90), a simple lemon, cheese, and butter emulsion with a floral finish from tarragon; or the White Ragu Bolognese ($19.90), a tribute to Felix Trattoria’s “Vecchia Scuola” sauce over pappardelle.

Still got space for dessert? We recommend the decadent Tiramisu ($9.90). Weekday happy hour runs from 4pm-7pm, with cocktails from $9.90, and house wines from $11.90.

5. Bouillon Gavroche

Classic French comfort food at budget-friendly prices

Father-son duo Frédéric and Jean Colin have opened what’s likely the first Parisian “bouillon” in Asia, right in Mandarin Gallery. A bouillon is basically the humbler, working-class cousin of a brasserie, and Bouillon Gavroche leans hard into that: red banquettes, tightly packed tables, no table linen, and a strict walk-in-only policy.

The prices are the real headline here, with starters from $6, mains under $28, and wine by the glass from $8. Start with the Oeufs Mimosa ($6) or the deep-fried Camembert Pané ($14), then move on to hearty French classics before finishing with the Profiterole ($10), which arrives with hot chocolate sauce poured tableside. FYI, the most expensive item is the Butcher’s Cut Steak.

It’s the kind of place you could genuinely return to weekly without needing an excuse… which is exactly the point.

6. ASIN

Intimate Asian fine dining concept

Image adapted from: @asin.sg via Instagram

Chef Ace Tan, previously of Asu, is back with ASIN (pronounced “Ace-in”) in Boat Quay – a 22-seat restaurant built around what he calls Progressive Asian Cuisine. The name is a play on “Asian” and also means “salt” in Tagalog, which tells you a lot about the philosophy: salt as the foundation on which everything else builds.

The 8-course tasting menu ($188) draws on Southeast Asian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese traditions, guided by 食疗 (shi liao), or Chinese food therapy. Standouts include the Oyster Omelette, a hawker classic reimagined as a crystalline sphere, and the Yum Pu Ma Noodles, a cold, addictive nod to Thai raw marinated crab.

If you’re going all in, the Ngor Hiang 6.0 (+$18) is Chef Ace’s riff on his grandmother’s Hokkien recipe, and the Pepper Hanwoo (+$55) lets you compose each bite yourself with a spread of sauces. It’s dinner-only, Wednesday to Sunday, and tables go fast.

Address: 38 Carpenter Street, Singapore 059917

7. FreakyNoods Pasta

Affordable Japanese-style pasta

The team behind FreakyCones in Chinatown has pivoted into pasta with FreakyNoods Pasta, which soft-launched on 1st July with 4 cheekily named dishes, all Japanese-inflected and none over $17. The Duck Buddy ($16.90) is their riff on rose pasta – al dente linguine in a creamy, piquant gochujang sauce topped with roast duck, finished with crushed seaweed and sesame.

The Beef Daddy ($15.90) is a hearty bolognese-style pasta elevated with garlic confit butter, while Prawn Hub ($16.90) keeps things classic with aglio olio and whole prawns. White Chicks ($15.90), a creamy chicken alfredo, rounds out the lineup for anyone who wants something a little less adventurous.

Mains are only available from 12pm to 6pm daily, so plan your visit accordingly.

Price: $
Address: 200 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058749
Opening hours: 12pm-6pm, Daily

8. SukiyakiJin

Signature tomato sukiyaki with a mountain of wagyu

Les Amis Group’s Japanese Collective has quietly opened SukiyakiJin at Shaw Centre, and it’s built around one dramatic visual: a “mountain” of thinly sliced A5 wagyu piled over classic sukiyaki staples like napa cabbage, tofu, and konjac noodles. There are only 2 options: Original Sukiyaki ($45/pax) and the Signature Tomato Sukiyaki ($48/pax), both with a minimum order of 2 portions.

The tomato version is the one to get. Its broth is built from four different shoyu varieties, layered with the acidity and sweetness of tomato for something lighter but still deeply savoury, with chilli padi on the side for a local kick. As the wagyu simmers and melts into the broth, dip it into a pasteurised raw egg to finish, classic sukiyaki style.

Fair warning: this is a food-coma-inducing meal, best shared, and probably not one for a rushed weekday lunch.

Opening hours: 11.30am-3pm & 5.30pm-10pm, Daily

9. Jing Studio

Premium tea & Chinese desserts

Image adapted from: @jing.studiosg via Instagram

Housed within The House of Tan Yeok Nee, one of Singapore’s last remaining Four Grand Mansions and a national monument, Jing Studio is a new teahouse just a 4-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT. The space blends the mansion’s 1880s architectural details with calm, modern interiors, guided by an in-house Tea Master.

The menu spans single-origin brews, refined blends and herbal infusions. The Ember Road ($12) is a premium Yunnan black tea with honeyed, dried apricot notes, while the Toasted Velvet ($8) is a Nantou oolong with roasted chestnut and caramel, served hot or cold with milk. For something more playful, there’s the Coco Pulut Pu-erh ($8), blending dark pu-erh with coconut milk, or the caffeine-free Herbal Nectar ($7) with longan, rose and jujube.

Worth the trip if you want a slower, more contemplative kind of tea break.

10. Shu Bakery

Neighbourhood cafe with savoury & sweet toasts

Image adapted from: @shubakerysg via Instagram

Fans of Serangoon Garden’s viral picnic-mat bakery Chū and Co will want to know about its sister concept, Shu Bakery, which opened at Space@Kovan with indoor seating. It’s a slightly more polished, moodier space, but it still keeps that neighbourhood warmth. Seating is limited to 1 communal table, so go early if you want to sit.

The menu goes beyond bakes, with savoury toasts like the Uni Scrambled Egg ($26), featuring bafun uni and tzatziki, and the Duck Rillette Toast ($18.50). The namesake Chu + Shu Toast ($15.50) comes 2 ways: one with kaya custard, one with Brazil nut chocolate praline and banana – basically breakfast that secretly wants to be dessert. Save room for the Shu Forest ($7.50), a chocolate cake with salted cream and cherries, or a slice of Tiramisu ($12).

11. JUMBOREE

Jumbo Group’s first-ever food hall concept

JUMBO Group has finally gone into the food court game with JUMBOREE, a 17,997 sq ft, fully air-conditioned food hall at their Tai Seng headquarters. It brings together over ten in-house brands under one roof, all ordered via QR code at your table, so there’s no queuing.

Anchoring the space is Jumbo 1987, a Hong Kong dai pai dong-style concept serving Jumbo’s seafood signatures at nett prices, alongside Kok Kee Wonton Noodle, Tai Seng Satay (from $6.80 for 6 sticks), and a self-serve JUMBOREE Premium Quick Meal counter where dishes go for $1.90 to $4.90 a bowl. There’s also a wine-and-craft-beer-on-tap section, priced from as little as $0.32 per 10ml, so you can taste your way through a few without committing to a full glass.

Come evening, there’s a live band too, which makes it a decent option for after-work drinks in an area that otherwise doesn’t have much going on.

Address: 26 Tai Seng Street, #01-02, Singapore 534057
Opening hours: Mon-Sat 7am-12am | Sun 7am-10.30pm

12. HALO Ube & Matcha

Viral tarts & matcha iced lattes

Taking over the former Hvala Kissa space at 100AM, HALO Ube & Matcha might be Singapore’s first cafe dedicated fully to ube, the purple yam that’s been riding matcha’s coattails to viral status. It’s by the same team behind Hvala, so the matcha game is solid too.

The Ube Mochi Tart ($9.90) is the one to order: a buttery tart shell filled with ube paste, ube filling, mochi and coconut chantilly. For drinks, the Ube Matcha Latte ($6.90) blends the earthiness of matcha with ube’s floral sweetness, while the more indulgent Ube Banana Pudding Coffee ($7.50) comes topped with a scoop of ube banana pudding and Biscoff crumbs.

13. Big Short Coffee (Beach Road)

Coffees that look like craft cocktails

Big Short Coffee has opened its second outlet at Beach Road, after first making a name for itself in Joo Chiat with drinks that look more like something you’d order at a cocktail bar. Think brick walls, warm orange tones and rounded arches; the space feels more like a bar than a café.

The menu changes seasonally, but during the current Summer chapter, expect drinks like Mole Dragon ($9.50), Lily Pad ($8.50), King Of Chendol ($10), Blueberry “Umeshu” ($9), and Mont Blanc ($8.50). The Pulut Hitam Amazake ($8.50) is a standout – espresso combined with black sticky rice amazake, Japanese koji fermentation and gula melaka for something that’s part coffee, part dessert.

Address: 273 Beach Road, #01-01, Singapore 199548
Opening hours: Mon-Thu & Sun 8am-5pm | Fri-Sat 8am-8pm

14. Yunma Bakehouse

Freshly baked Taiwanese & Japanese-style breads

Image adapted from: @yunmabakehouse.sg via Instagram

Tucked along Purvis Street and slightly hidden behind construction scaffolding, Yunma Bakehouse is easy to miss but worth seeking out if you’re after Japanese-inspired bakes. The space is brighter than expected, with soft beige tones and rounded booth seating.

The display counter rotates through smaller, affordable bakes like the Cranberry Cream Cheese Bun, Double Chocolate Bun, Taro Bun, and Curry Potato Bun, alongside savoury picks like Tomato Focaccia and Jalapeno Cheese Focaccia. For something lighter, try the Soya Tofu Cake, a gentler alternative to the usual cheesecake, with a clean, tofu-forward finish.

15. Casa Mori

Spanish tapas-style dishes with a local twist

Dempsey’s newest opening comes from an unlikely pairing: mod-Sin pioneer Chef Willin Low and Spanish Chef José Alonso (of Kulto and AC Concepts). Casa Mori – “home” in Spanish, “forest” in Japanese – takes over the old La Salsa space with blush-toned interiors and towering columns inspired by Dempsey’s Tembusu trees.

The menu jumps between Spanish classics and playful local reworkings: Kalipoquetas ($16), a curry-puff take on croquetas, and Garlic Huajiao Prawns ($32), Szechuan-style prawns with confit garlic. The Hokkien Mee Fideua ($58) is the dish to share – short noodles loaded with Argentinian red prawns, clams and mussels. For dessert, the Spanish churros ($16) come with a local twist: chocolate sauce and homemade kaya.

If you’re going in a group, pre-order the suckling pig ($95). It feeds up to 4 but needs 45 minutes’ notice.

17. Behind Clay

Artisinal pizza & cocktails spot in Clarke Quay

Hidden literally behind the wood-fired oven of riverside pizzeria Il Clay, Behind Clay opened in June as a concealed 52-seat dining lounge with no separate entrance or signboard; you walk through the pizzeria to find it. It’s led by Chef Ciro Sorrentino, whose Ho Chi Minh City pizzeria Margherí ranked No. 12 in Asia-Pacific on 50 Top Pizza 2026, working alongside Chef Yip, a veteran of contemporary Chinese kitchens across Asia.

The menu leans into East-meets-West flavour combos: Mala Shaker Pork Belly ($20), tossed with pickled vegetables and Sichuan pepper and served straight out of a paper bag, and pizzas like the Foie Gras Pate ($38) with tamarind sauce and pineapple purée, or the Butternut Chicken Curry ($26). The Spicy Shrimp Carpaccio ($28), thin sheets of prawn paired with pork lard and Assam sauce, is another standout.

Japan’s no. 1 hamburg restaurant, Hikiniku To Come, has landed in VivoCity, and there’s only 1 item on the menu – the Hikiniku To Come Set ($27.90++). Each set comes with 3 servings of 90g hamburg patties fresh off the grill and served with miso soup, a raw egg, grated radish, homemade ponzu vinegar, and unlimited freshly cooked rice.

Since the restaurant has a counter-style dining setup, you’ll get to watch the chef shape each patty by hand, place it over the charcoal grill, and eventually have it served to you. 2. Blind Tiger

Inspired by hidden bars from the Prohibition era

Image adapted from: Blind Tiger

The team behind the handmade pasta bar, Scarpetta, and burger joint Smash Street, is back with another dining establishment to note. The Blind Tiger is a late-night speakeasy inspired by the Prohibition era in America – think code words and hidden drinking spots.

Drawing from the bootleggers who smuggled spirits to keep speakeasies alive, the Borderline Smuggler ($25) cocktail features Jalapeño-infused tequila that’s balanced out by sweet strawberries and complemented by a touch of orange. If you’re in the mood for a richer cocktail, turn to Midnight Shipment ($27) – rum and cold brew coffee are combined and layered with vanilla, with a subtle orange note paying tribute to the midnight deliveries underground bars used to receive to avoid detection.

16. Quan Hotpot

Unique congee broth soup base

Image adapted from: Wei Yin, Resorts World Sentosa

Quan Hotpot’s concept is inspired by the 5 elements of flavour – sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty. In other words, expect soup bases that go beyond your usual clear soup and tomato options. One of the more unique picks here is the Traditional Congee Broth ($14), made with Thai jasmine rice and mushroom stock – it has a comforting flavour that almost feels like you’re drinking a bowl of silky congee. But if you prefer stronger flavours, there’s also the Bone Pepper Broth ($16) and Singapore “Signature” Laksa Broth ($18).

Go for the Signature 5-Elements Hot Pot Set ($68), which comes with a spread of seafood like tiger prawns and Korean abalone, alongside meats such as organic Australian pork belly and kampong chicken thigh. You’ll also be served the IG-worthy 5 Elements Fish Noodles, made using tomato, sweet potato, pumpkin, charcoal, and spinach.

Another thing that sets the experience apart is the tableside condiment service. Instead of heading to a DIY sauce station, the staff will bring over an assortment of condiments to your table. You can either let them whip up a custom dipping sauce for you or mix your own concoction.

Classic smash burgers

From the same team that brought you Scarpetta, Smash Street is an upcoming contemporary burger bar dishing out classic smash burgers just a few doors down from its viral pasta predecessor. If you’re confused as to what a smash burger is, the patty is basically smashed on a hot griddle to achieve an ultra-crisp caramelised edge, topped with your usual condiments before being sandwiched between fluffy potato buns.

To celebrate its launch on 3rd April 2026, Smash Street is giving away 1,000 burgers for free, with 500 available on 3rd and 4th April during their lunch and dinner service each day. If you’re looking to dine in for the full burger bar experience, you might want to head down early, as the outlet only has 14 seats for walk-in diners. But fret not, takeaway is also available.

Pair their signature Classic Burger ($14) with a side like their Chicken Poppers ($10), which comes with a housemade chilli crunch aioli, and their Cornflake Milkshake ($8).

3. AMOR

Spanish tapas & desserts

Stepping into AMOR at Amoy Street feels like stumbling into a Mediterranean dreamscape. This new Spanish concept is the brainchild of the duo formerly behind the iconic Olivia and Noa Lounge. The space is a visual tribute to Barcelona; think curved arches inspired by Gaudí and a stunning trencadís mosaic bar made of broken tiles. By day, it’s a bright spot for a leisurely $38++ 3-course set lunch, but once the sun sets and the siesta ends, the vibe shifts entirely. The lighting dims, the music picks up a rhythmic pulse, and the restaurant transforms into a refined dinner destination.

The menu is a love letter to Spain, balancing traditional roots with innovative twists. Purists will flock to the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota ($38), hand-carved and cured for 24 months, or the soul-warming Paella Mediterranean Seafood ($56), complete with that crunchy socarrat at the bottom. For those looking for Chef Wang’s signature playfulness, the Happy Eggggg ($18) is a must-try – a 65°C onsen egg layered with truffle sabayon served in a martini glass. Don’t skip dessert, particularly the Hazelnut & Almond Lava Cake ($18) served with coconut ice cream.

4. BOP (Bartenders Of Pony)

Cocktail dining bar inspired by Korean culture

Cocktail dining bar BOP (short for Bartenders Of Pony) has a drinks menu that focuses on 12 signature cocktails inspired by Korean pop culture and drinking rituals. Some must-tries include the Iced Somaek ($16), a classic soju and beer mix, and the BOP Martini ($23), a concoction of soju, gin, seaweed, Korean rice wine, and olive pickles.

The food menu includes dishes that pair really well with cocktails, such as the Crispy Fried Chicken ($18), Cucumber & Squid Muchim ($14), and Tuna Gimbap ($21).

What’s unique is their Korean traditional design and architecture, and 4 zones with different energy levels starting from the outermost Kki Bar, which is the social heart of BOP, followed by Skylight Green. As you step further in, things become quieter and more intimate with the Bokagi Room, and finally the innermost Sarangbang, which resembles private rooms in Korean traditional homes.

Happy hour at BOP runs from 6pm to 7.30pm daily.

11. POP CITY X PONY

Japanese-inspired cocktail bar in the CBD

Image adapted from: @popcity.singapore via Instagram

If you’re a fan of the Jigger & Pony crew, you’ll want to put their latest spot, POP CITY X PONY, at the top of your bar-hop list. Created in collaboration with The House of Suntory, the space feels less like a cultural living room inspired by the cool, eclectic energy of modern Japan.

The menu is split into 2 distinct moods: POP and CITY. If you’re feeling high-energy, go for the “POP” side with vibrant, music-inspired drinks like the Strawberry Love Punch ($26) or the moody, caffeine-kicked HØJ1CHA €SPR€$$Ø MART1N1 ($25). For something a bit more polished and minimalist, the “CITY” section offers structured sips like the Pop City Sour ($26), which features a smooth Hibiki Harmony base. If you’re a regular, keep an eye on their “Seasons in Motion” series, where they rotate 2 experimental cocktails every month to match the 24 Japanese solar terms, so there’s always a fresh excuse to visit.

The venue itself is a bit of a maze, broken into different zones to suit your vibe. You can grab a seat at the Byōbu Bar against a backdrop of hand-painted folding screens, or hide away in the Bar Mixtape nook, a tiny spot modelled after Tokyo’s famous micro-bars where you can actually browse and listen to CDs while you sip. Between the mid-century Danish furniture and the vintage vinyl displays, it’s a very aesthetic place to settle in.

Hungry? Don’t miss the Mochi Cheese Nuggets ($12) served with a miso curry sauce, or the indulgent Uni and Corn Croquettes ($20). If you’re looking to save a few bucks, swing by for their daily happy hour from 5.30pm to 8pm, where you can snag drinks starting from just $15.
