Those who stay in the West, say “aye”. Or more specifically, those living around the Bukit Gombak neighbourhood. For the uninitiated, it’s the ‘hood not too far from Bukit Batok Hillside Park. We’re here to share an upcoming event happening from 5th-7th April 2024 – Rasa Gombak Day Out.
This weekend pop-up will showcase a slew of retail and F&B stores that have collaborated to bring unique offerings, many of which are resident favourites. There’ll also be DIY workshops and live performances to enjoy. Whether you’re a Westie or not, the Rasa Gombak Day Out is worth a trip down. Here’s what you can expect:
It’s time to grab your besties and go shopping. There are 12 retail and F&B stores at the Rasa Gombak Day Out marketplace, featuring local merchants such as The Homme Baker, Jollee’s Jelly Art, AhMah’s Legacy, and Bamboo Straw Girl.

You’ll feel all kinds of nostalgia at the Rasa Gombak Day Out Gift Shop which features exclusive items such as crochet coasters by Studio Siento.
Remember those old-school snacks we used to rave about? You might find some familiar munchies here, but with a modern twist. These gem biscuits have taken on a new life thanks to a collab between Tay Hock Choon Supermarket and PrintnPrint, with the local print shop revamping their packaging.
Those blessed with green thumbs will appreciate the Ceramication and Kwee Lim Plants collaboration. Browse through a wide selection of beautiful blooms from Kwee Lim Plants, and pair them with hand-made ceramics from Ceramication. These new additions will help to bring life and colour to your living space, for sure.
If you’re looking to update your IG with some fresh new pictures, check out the chio installation done by YANGERMEISTER in collaboration with J&J Discount Superstore. This one-of-a-kind set will feature common household items such as baskets, pails, and knick knacks from the neighbourhood hardware shop, but with a tinge of quirkiness that makes it a perfect backdrop for your pictures.

While you’re roaming around the place, you’ll notice the hot pink OATSIDE ice cream truck. This can only mean one thing – OATSIDE will be gifting a free cup of ice cream to those who spend $10 and above at the event or at the Bukit Gombak Neighbourhood Centre. Simply present your receipt at the gift shop and redeem a token to be exchanged for the free ice cream.
You can also score their famed oat milk pocket packs going on sale at $3 for 3 packets, while stocks last. If you’re looking for something to quench your thirst, Zeel Supertea will be giving out cans of their Elevate sparkling tea.
Plus, you can qualify for Swapaholic’s free swap plans by participating in their Declutter Drive. Either thrift items from their racks for a flat $5/item or bring your own clothes to make a swap. In the later case, you’ll need to bring 5 items in good condition and exchange these for Swapaholic’s stash of garments.

If tiny things make you squeal in delight, then you’ll be glad to know that Tinysnips will be holding self-guided workshops for DIY mini ketupat clay charms. These make for amazing birthday gifts, but honestly, we’d much rather keep these cuties for ourselves. Just head to their booth and for $6/pax, $10/2 pax, or $12/3 pax, you’ll be provided with all the materials and instructions needed to create your own charms.
There’s also the Chinese Tea Appreciation Experience by Tea Jockey from 5th-6th April, and by Floral Note Tea on 7th April. Skip the matcha and go for Chinese tea like Oolong and Pu’erh instead – they have a bunch of health benefits and specific brewing methods that you’ll learn about during the session. These will be pay-as-you-wish sessions.
Over at My Grandmama’s Secret booth you can get an aura painting ($10) and divination reading ($30) done too. Self-proclaimed modern witch, Nara will use watercolours for the former and chakra cards to conduct the latter.

Round up your time here by joining their adorable mascot, Little Kuehlin, on a photo hunt. Inspired by the iconic Little Guilin in Bukit Gombak, Little Kuehlin will be your guide as you journey around the area, following a map to uncover hidden gems and secrets about the surrounding landmarks.
Once you’ve completed the activity, you’ll be rewarded with a Rasa Gombak Sticker Set, with limited redemptions daily.

Take a break from shopping and enjoy some tunes by talented musicians. Local band Jungle Flow Music will play soothing songs inspired by tribal and medicinal rhythms, featuring unique instruments like the darbuka, djembe, and didgeridoo. IDA will also be performing catchy melodies influenced by Singapore’s culture.
