Pezzo Has A New Satay Rendang Pizza To Break Fast With This Ramadan

Special Ramadan Menus

Ramadan’s upon us again – and with that comes the dilemma of choosing where to break fast every evening. If jostling with the crowd at the Geylang Serai bazaar to get your iftar fix is too much for your people-averse soul, here’s something you can enjoy without leaving the comfort of home.

It’s pizza – a classic delivery fave. But it’s not your usual Hawaiian, Meat-lovers and what have you. Instead, Pezzo’s rolled out some slices with a twist specially for Ramadan, along with some super-worth-it meal combos. Here’s what to expect:

Pezzo

Satay Rendang Pizza for spice-lovers

You might remember Pezzo’s banana + Oreo World Cup pizza and their monster-sized Godzilla pizza. Joining the ranks of unique pizza concoctions is the latest Satay Rendang Pizza ($5.20/slice), a mashup of Malay and Italian cuisines on a bed of soft pizza dough.

Take a slice and sink your teeth into generous chunks of sweet satay chicken, topped off with mozzarella cheese and a generous serving of rendang sauce for that much-needed kick.

Why rendang though? For starters, the spicy meat dish is packed with aromatic spices such as ginger, garlic and galangal that give it a rich flavour.

Each ingredient in rendang also has a unique meaning in the Indonesian Minangkabau culture it originated from. The rendang meat symbolises community, chilli represents society’s religious leaders, and spices are the rest of society!

Cheese lovers will also go gaga for the gooey, springy mozzarella cheese that oozes out of the pizza with every bite. Just look at that perfect cheese pull!

Fun fact: Pezzo’s cheese comes only from grain-fed American cows, and it’s these cows’ strict diet that gives us the cheesy taste we all love.

Value meals for those on a budget

If you’re feeling ravenous after a whole day of fasting but are reluctant to splurge on a huge meal, pick up Pezzo’s Ramadan combo meal ($9.90) to quell that grumbling stomach.

You’ll get a slice of satay rendang pizza, 4 spicy wings or drumlets, and a drink – all without the double-digit price tag!

For those with traditional taste buds

If pizza’s not your thing, switch things up with CRAVE Nasi Lemak & Teh Tarik’s newly-launched Jemput Ramadan dishes:

Wake your taste buds up with the Hot & Spicy Squid Nasi Lemak ($8.90), packed with chewy deep-fried squid, fragrant basmati rice, and sweet-tinged sambal chilli. CRAVE’s generous with the squid – look at how it takes up 50% of the entire plate!

P.S. The sambal chilli is a top-secret family recipe originating from the owner’s grandmother, with Indian and Japanese chillies in it!

Or for some post-dinner snacking, nibble on some rempeyek (deep-fried crackers, from $12.90 per box). Aromatic and crispy, they come in 3 flavours of peanut, green bean, and ikan bilis.

Finally, wash it all down with an iced bandung with grass jelly ($2.90) or iced honeydew with grass jelly ($2.90).
