Pasar Malams In Singapore To Visit In Nov & Dec 2022 For Cheap Street Food & Carnival Games

Pasar malams in Singapore

Growing up in Singapore, most of us have fond memories of pasar malams – whether it’s queuing up for a Ramly Burger, spending coins at claw machines, or the cheap thrill of buying colourful electronics.

While there may be many new atas restaurants and chic cafes, nothing hits the spot like some good oldfashioned street food. For the satisfaction of your stomach and your wallet, we’ve put together a list of pasar malams in Singapore to visit this November and December.

– Happening now –

Easties, you’re one lucky bunch. One of the biggest pasar malams of the year is located beside Tampines Mall and Tampines MRT station, with over 100 food, drinks, and game stalls.

For bites, you can expect usual street food delicacies like takoyaki ($5) and lok lok skewers ($1/stick). They also sell unique twists of the usuals, like keropok lekor (fish crackers) with various toppings like salted egg ($6) and black pepper ($6)

For some post-dinner dessert, drop by one of the many drink stalls. At Bottoms-Up, you can grab an ice cream soda ($5) that’s perfect for the hot weather or drop by Xiao Shao Ye for a refreshing Coconut Shake ($5).

This roadside market in the West may be modest in size, but it has plenty of interesting stalls to see. One to look out for is Otak Otak Hyda.Co that serves up spicy chilli tahu bergedil ($12), a delicious mix of potato, tofu, and minced beef that’s been deep fried.

If you’re in the mood for western, head over to Cake Love which has got goodies like flamed cheese fries with toppings like BBQ bacon ($8). Their main attraction? Dutch baby pancakes ($6). The flavours will leave you spoilt for choice, with options like ondeh ondeh and chilli crab.

There are claw machines where you can spend your spare coins – try winning yourself a soft toy to keep you company when you WFH.

No dinner at home? No problem. The famous Ramly Burger ($6) and Taiwanese XXXL Chicken Chop ($7) are some of the must-tries for foodies who want a cheap but satisfying meal.

Besides the food, there are tons of carnival games and stalls selling cheap apparel. We hear there’s convincingly authentic Supreme fanny packs – it’s almost as if you’re at Chatuchak Market.

Located at an open space between blocks 827 and 829, this food fair is a more intimate version of the larger Tampines Night Market – but that doesn’t mean it’s short on things to eat and buy. There’s even a plant section to check out if you’re looking to add more green to your home.
