Nico Cafe at Wheelock Place

Just because Singapore is all concrete jungle doesn’t mean you can’t find pockets of green around. There’s a new one that’s just opened up: Nico Cafe at Wheelock Place. The cottage core-themed cafe stands out in the heart of Orchard Road with its many plants and flowers that deck the place. Here’s what’s available at this spring-themed sanctum:

There’s only 1 word to describe Nico Cafe: chio. You’re greeted by greenery covering the cafe even before you step in. And once you’re in, it’s covered wall-to-wall and even floor-to-floor in ferns, vines, and shrubs. We recommend dressing up in florals, so you can really pop in the photos that you’re def going to take.

As if the garden theme isn’t enough, the cafe also has a book wall for photo-worthy snaps for your main feed – not just for IG stories. It’s a whole wall plastered in books, with stalks of orchids and roses scattered throughout. It’s the most popular spot in the cafe for photos, so come early if you want a guaranteed spot in front of the wall.

Even if you’re camera-shy, you can still get plenty of aesthetic pics, thanks to the equally chio dishes available here. The camera will surely be eating first with the cafe’s donburis (from $18.90) like Cheesy Mentaiko Chicken Cutlet and Iberico Pork Secreto that top beds of Japanese rice.

Then there are the Japanese-inspired sandos like the Wagyu Beef Sando ($19.90) and Guacamole Tamago Sando ($11.90) if you want something filling but light on the carbs. These thicc layered sandwiches are generously filled with toppings like a jammy hard boiled egg or a deep-fried Wagyu beef patty.

If you’ve been to Nico Cafe at Telok Kurau, you’ll already be familiar with the cafe’s extensive, floral-themed dessert menu. You’ll find similar items here like the Sweet & Savoury Toast ($8.90), which comes topped with brûléed bananas, fresh berries, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
