Naruto 20th anniversary exhibition in Singapore
It’s been 20 years since Naruto first came onto our screens. The shonen anime may have been targeted at boys but let’s be real, anyone who has followed the journey of this outcast-turned-leader would be a fan.
Well, fans, now’s your chance to catch epic moments in the anime at the Naruto 20th Anniversary Exhibition from 29th May till 2nd July. Dattebayo! Here’s what to expect:
8 sets bringing memorable scenes to life
Don’t lose an arm if you’re trying to recreate their last battle though.
There have been many iconic scenes in the 720 episodes of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, but 8 have been chosen to be brought to life as part of the Naruto 20th Anniversary Exhibition. Relive moments like the last bout between Naruto and Sasuke in The Final Valley by posing with your friends in front of these 3D sets.
What would you summon?
You can even channel your inner ninja and perform a jutsu of your own here. 5 of the sets have immersive elements like a summoning jutsu platform that lights up when you hit a button in the centre.
3 galleries that will take fans down memory lane
From the moment you step in, you’ll be hit with a wave of nostalgia. Snippets of memorable scenes from the anime are displayed along the walls, with quotes from characters beneath them. There are even displays of some of your favourite ninja tools like kunai knives and smoke bombs to geek out over.
The more hardcore fans would also appreciate the original concept artwork and sketches section that has works dating back to the 2000s. Unfortunately, snapping a pic of these is a no-no even though they’d be great for the mems.
Step into the Hidden Leaf Village in a VR game
Disclaimer: the Akatsuki cloak isn’t part of the experience – I brought my own.
Dreams do come true. Live out your fantasy of becoming a shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village, the very place Naruto and gang grew up in and fought to protect. Run, jump, and fight your way through enemies on missions assigned to you before facing off against the final boss. This VR roleplaying game was made just for the exhibition so you’re essentially getting first dibs.
You’ll get a small token just for participating, but there’s a bigger prize for those who pass all the objectives and defeat the boss. Don’t take it lightly though, it’s tougher than the Chuunin exams.
Tickets for the VR experience are $25. Book them early for a chance to prove your ninja prowess in the virtual Naruto world.

Get your wallet ready for the limited-edition merch
Figurines (from $18) and Naruto tees ($50).
There’s really no better way to celebrate Naruto’s 20th Anniversary than purchasing some merch. Get yourself a cute Keeppley building block set of some memorable moments in the show – like Naruto and Hinata’s wedding ceremony ($29.90) – or get some new Naruto tshirts ($50) to add to your wardrobe.
Akatsuki Cloud floormat ($30)
They even have floormats ($30) and figurines (from $18), which’ll be hard to resist. Payday came a day late so I walked away empty-handed – do come prepared with some dough to avoid suffering the same fate as me.
