There are plenty of ways to celebrate SG60 this year. Whether it’s checking out the new Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time exhibition, or exploring the heritage and arts scene with the SG Culture Pass, there’s always something to get you in the spirit.
And if you’re in JB for a weekend getaway, you can still catch those patriotic feels at MINILAND Singapore in LEGOLAND Malaysia.
First introduced in 2012, MINILAND Singapore is a miniature recreation of our country’s most beloved landmarks, and then some. This year, as a special tribute to SG’s 60th birthday, it’s been given a major glow-up, now bigger and better than before.

The new interactive experience spans over 2,583sqft, featuring 16 large models, 10 boats, 80 vehicles, and over 100 scenes – all built from over 1.5 million LEGO bricks. Plus, this miniature Little Red Dot is brought to life with 1,600 MINILANDers – AKA tiny LEGO figures scattered across the cityscape.
Some of the highlights at the newly revamped MINILAND Singapore include iconic landmarks you’ll definitely recognise. While we can’t cover all 16 of them here, we’ve picked out the coolest ones, each with an interactive feature that really brings them to life. We’ll leave the rest for you to explore and discover on your own.

The Cloud Forest and Supertree Grove are staples in Gardens by the Bay, and over here, you’ll get to admire them from a bird’s-eye view. Watch as glowing waterfalls and mist effects breathe life into the miniature, lush greenery.

Just behind GBTB, you’ll spot the towering 4m-tall Marina Bay Sands – hard to miss, really. It’s a clear nod to its status as one of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks. Heck, it even comes with a dynamic light show at the top.
Who knows – maybe by Singapore’s 70th birthday, they’ll update the space with MBS Tower 4, which should be up and running by then.

Standing at 3.4m tall, the Singapore Flyer is the second-largest LEGO installation at MINILAND Singapore – it even rotates just like the real thing. Talk about staying true to the source material.

The Merlion Park here might not be as grand as the Singapore Flyer or MBS, but it’s arguably cooler, since you can press a button to trigger the water jet from the lion’s mouth. Just be careful not to get splashed.

Queuing and chope-ing a spot at the hawker centre like it’s a race is a quintessential Singaporean culture quirk, and you’ll get to sharpen your senses for the next time that happens at the One-Table-Left Race. See if you can get the LEGO family to the last free table before it gets choped.
There’s no separate ticket for this attraction, so to visit, you’ll have to buy a regular ticket (from S$58.79) to LEGOLAND Malaysia. However, there is a way to shave off costs while getting more in return for the long run. More on this below.
