Joyful Dreamland in Johor Bahru

Many of us cross the border to escape the daily grind, usually for impromptu day trips, cafe hopping, and to tick off a handful of things to do in JB. Now, just 20 minutes from the Causeway, there’s Joyful Dreamland, a literal DIY rainbow park that turns an outing with friends and family into a playful workout.

Here, you can pedal your way through mini rides and burn off a little of that post-dinner indulgence. Read on to find out what to expect from this unique amusement park experience.

What is Joyful Dreamland?

Joyful Dreamland is JB’s first ever colourful, human-powered amusement park that uses bicycle-pedalling mechanisms to get the gears up and going. It’s located at Sutera Square, just outside Sutera Mall, and it’s open until December 2026, giving you plenty of time to plan a visit.

You’ll find rainbow slides, a mini roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, and a carousel, as well as other interactive activity stations. You can also snap some photos with the adorable duck-themed decorations around the park.

Rather than focusing only on thrilling rides or adrenaline-pumping attractions, there are rides here that are all about getting hands-on for an interactive experience. You’ll have to pedal a bicycle attached to certain attractions, using your own effort to keep it moving – so the harder you pedal, the faster it goes.

While you’ll have to pedal your way through the mini roller coaster, Ferris wheel and carousel, you’ll also find long rainbow slides, swings, and other interactive activity stations where you can just chill and have fun. So nope, you won’t leave feeling like you’ve just participated in Hyrox.

There are also bouncy castles and a ton of space for the kids to run around and enjoy. Don’t forget to snap pics at the photo spots featuring duck-themed decorations and colourful backdrops.

Depending on how invested you are in the activities, you might find yourself spending around 2 to 4 hours here.

How much do admission tickets cost?

Tickets start from RM38/pax (~S$12.05), but the more tickets you purchase, the cheaper they get. For example, tickets cost RM68 (~S$21.56) for 2 pax and RM128 (~S$40.59) for 4 pax. Children under 100cm can enter for free.
