TGV Cinemas is widely known for providing a premium experience at a more affordable price point. Their Deluxe Halls (from RM17, ~S$5.30) offer plenty of legroom and feature padded reclining seats, allowing you to lean back and relax while enjoying the film.
Families travelling with kiddos also need not park them at a playground as their Junior Halls are family-friendly with an in-house playroom specially reserved for kids. The Duo (RM30, ~S$9.40) seats one adult and one child. And if your little ones wish to join you during the movie, get the Lounger (RM65, ~S$20.40) that’s big enough to seat a family of 4.
Note: The Junior Hall is available at all outlets except Kulaijaya.

For ultra-cosy and comfy seats, TGV Cinemas also has the Beanie theatres exclusively at AEON Mall in both Tebrau City and Bukit Indah outlets, with tickets costing RM55/ticket (~S$17.30). As the name suggests, the usual leather seats have been replaced with bean bag pods so you can lounge comfortably while watching the film.
TGV Cinemas@AEON Tebrau City review: “My family and I had a great time at the Beanie theatre. The seat has wide leg room and is spacious and comfy. The only dislike was the air freshener, which was located on the top left wall of the last back seat. Personally, the ‘insect repellent’ scent was overpowering.”—Wendy Wee via Google Maps
Found in Toppen Shopping Centre, TGV Cinemas welcomes its patrons with a Coca-Cola-themed snack bar, remodelled to resemble an old-school American diner. Besides the counters being an Insta-worthy background, it also has power outlets, should you need to charge your devices.
There are several types of halls available, but those looking for an upgrade can consider the Infinity Hall (RM25, ~S$7.90). It’s equipped with Dolby Atmos audio for a more immersive sound experience. Plus, the large screen uses Christie’s RGB 4K laser projector to deliver clear and vibrant visuals, so you know you can expect a high-quality movie experience at this JB cinema.
The front row of the Infinity Hall also has Siesta (RM20, ~S$6.30) seats that are reclined so you can stretch out with tons of legroom.
Paradigm Mall, KSL City Mall, Sunway Big Box, and Mid Valley Southkey are staple shopping malls when we pop by JB. And something all 4 of these shopping malls have in common is Golden Screen Cinemas. Tickets for movie screenings at GSC start from RM15/ticket (~S$4.70), which at the time of writing, is the cheapest movie ticket on this list.

Admittedly, thrilling scenes and ominous soundtracks will get our hearts pounding and palms sweating. But for those who are up for a true real-life experience, level up your seats and opt for theatres with the 4DX tech (RM32, ~S$10) to make pseudo-snow and water effects mimicking rain. Keep in mind this hall is only available at specific outlets, so make sure you check the list to see if it’s available within the theatre you’re visiting.

For neurodivergent audiences, the GSC outlet in Mid Valley Southkey has sensory-friendly movie screenings at their PlayPlus Hall every second Sunday of the month. Here, the auditorium lighting is softly dimmed, and movies are played at a lower volume to create a calming atmosphere.
To make the space even more comfortable, each hall is designed with plush cuddle couches that comfortably fit parents and two children, and a small play area at the front to let kids move around freely. There’s also a dedicated nursery room where you can take your child to if they become overstimulated.
