Millennials and Gen Zs are generations that need to find meaning in their work. But it’s not always easy to find something you love, are good at, and can be paid for. Well, that’s where the Ikigai Test comes in. If you haven’t heard of Ikigai, it’s a Japanese concept that helps you find purpose and meaning in what you do to help you lead a more fulfilling life.

Your results will be displayed in a Venn Diagram sorted into 4 categories: what you love, what the world needs, what you are good at, and what you can be paid for. And well, your recommended career will be at the centre of the diagram.
Caution: it’s a very long test with different 4 parts of about 20 questions each, so you may want to set aside at least 10 minutes to complete it.

If you’re into personality tests, you’d probably have heard of Gretchen Rubin, the author of the book The Happiness Project. Her questionnaire, The Four Tendencies Quiz, will let you know whether you’re an Upholder, Questioner, Obliger, or Rebel.

It’s a moderately short quiz that’ll take about 5 minutes to complete, with questions that aim to find out what motivates you to do certain things. At the end of the quiz, you’ll get a detailed report that will break down what you’re motivated by and even suggest “hacks” that will work for you to meet your goals and get tasks done.
But don’t tell your boss you can’t meet your deadlines just because you’re a rebel ah.
4. Alignment Test – See how likely you are to end up in jail

Are you chaotic evil, lawful good, or true neutral? The Alignment Test will let you find out. It’s based on the game Dungeons & Dragons, with 36 questions that categorises your ethics and morals.
The results will reveal your true character, whether you’re a lawful one who respects authority and structures, or a chaotic rule-breaker who tends to be more utilitarian. Tread carefully when announcing your results, because you might just end up exposing yourself.

6. Dark Triad Test – Are you secretly a psycho?
If you have a track record of dating psychopaths, here’s a personality test you might want to take with you on first dates. The Dark Triad Test finds out 3 darker personality traits: narcissism, psychopathy, and machiavellianism.

According to quiz website IDR Labs, it’s been said to be used by the police and even in psychiatric wards. It also reveals how likely you are to commit a crime or cause problems at work.
This test is slightly longer at 36 questions and will take about 10 minutes to complete – but I promise you, it’s worth it.

7. Feminine Archetypes – Inspired by tarot cards

“Leaning into your dark femininity” has become a trend on TikTok. But what’s more powerful is getting to know your Feminine Archetypes so you can learn your strengths, weaknesses, and how to embrace your feminine power to transform into your highest self. The visuals are inspired by tarot cards, while the concept of the test is based on psychologist Carl Jung’s theory of archetypes.
Fun fact: The Huntress was inspired by Greek goddess Artemis.

After answering 14 questions, you’ll be grouped into 1 of the 7 archetypes – The Mother, The Queen, The Maiden, The Sage, The Huntress, The Lover, and The Mystic.
The test results will also show your strongest personality traits, along with your “light” and “shadow”, which basically means your strengths and weaknesses respectively.

If you’ve read up to this point, I’m assuming you’re interested in personality tests. So you most likely already know your MBTI. But of course, not everything is black and white, and John’s Personality Test breaks down your MBTI percentage to show how likely you are to be another type.
I did 25 short questions based on the Myers-Briggs test in less than 5 minutes and as a chronic INFP, I can confirm that it’s rather accurate.

Now’s the time to text your parents because you’ll need your birth information. The Human Design test is a mix of astrology, Myers-Briggs, and a few other woo woo factors like the chakra system.

Your date, time, and place of birth are used to create your own Human Design chart. There are 5 types – Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector – that will give you an insight into our strengths, weaknesses, fears, and passions.

This OG Enneagram Universe test is quite long, made up of 180 statements. But there’s also a shorter one on Truity for those who are lazy to complete 180 prompts. You’ll have to select the option that feels most familiar to you on a scale of “almost never” to “almost always”.
You’ll be split into 9 types of personalities: Reformer, Helper, Achiever, Individualist, Investigator, Loyalist, Enthusiast, Challenger, and Peacemaker. Each type will have its own motivations, fears, and internal dynamics, helping you understand why you and the people closest to you behave the way you do.

12. Photo Career Quiz – For those who don’t like words

For those who don’t like looking at too many words, I promise this will be as easy as the security prompts websites ask you to find out if you’re a robot. If you’re stuck at crossroads regarding your job, the Photo Career Quiz will help you figure out your ideal career.
Choose from 2 photos and after a series of about 30 questions, the quiz will recommend a career type and give you a score summary of your 6 interest areas: building, thinking, creating, helping, persuading, and organising.
P.S. This is not a substitute for a career counsellor.
