Cute fitness apps
We get it, keeping fit and staying in shape to sculpt a rockin’ bod is an arduous pursuit. Throw in external factors like a hectic work schedule and the recent haze situation, and your motivation to even head out for a jaunt swiftly plummets to its nadir. Thankfully, we live in an age where technology can give us a jolt of dopamine to get us off the couch and get active.
Should you need a little nudge to keep your fitness goals on track, take a peek at these cute fitness apps that’ll have you looking forward to lacing up those trainers. From Tamagotchi-like critters that feed off your steps to playing dress-up with virtual outfits purchased with sweat-earned currency, here are some to accompany you on your next workout.
Table of Contents
1. Walking Charlie
Register up to 10k steps daily for in-game currency to buy virtual outfits
To say the Walking Charlie app took our office by storm is no understatement. The premise of registering steps daily in exchange for virtual outfits for our avatars won us over instantly, and in just a couple of days, a good chunk of our colleagues were obsessed with getting their steps in.

The app’s as simple as it gets; users will receive donuts by hitting 5,000 and 10,000 step milestones every day. You can then use your donuts to purchase adorable outfits, accessories, and backgrounds to doll up your avatar; there’s even a Merlion background to strive for, if you’re feeling extra patriotic.

You are also able to upload snaps of your daily walks to the app to subtly nudge your friends to log their steps, as well as create houses so your avatars can all live under one roof.
BTW, if you don’t hit a step count of at least 5,000 every day, your avatar will fatten up a little. Conversely, meeting your step goals will result in them getting fitter, so you’re encouraged to get off your bums if you’d like a killer 6 pack, both in-game and IRL.

2. Wokamon
Raise cute monsters who feed off your steps

Pokémon fans, you’ll love this one. Wokamon is a creature collecting game where you’re tasked with nurturing Wokamons, which are quirky monsters that originate from the fictional planet Laya. Here’s the catch: instead of levelling up via combat, Wokamons get their sustenance from energy generated by human movement, AKA our steps.
By walking in the real world, you’ll expand your collection of Wokamons, discover new worlds for them to roam in, and unlock outfits to kit out your favourites with. You can also connect with friends via the app, which allows you to see who can rack up the most steps on a daily and weekly basis. Honestly, nothing’s a better motivator than some friendly competition.

3. Habbie
Take care of Tamagotchi-inspired pets by completing daily goals
If you’ve spent hours on end fiddling with a Tamagotchi as a child, then Habbie’s the app for you. This habit-tracking app is inspired by the popular Japanese gizmo of the late 90s, and you’ll see why immediately when you boot it up. Charmingly presented in pixel art, the app will have you caring for a Habbie Pet by completing daily goals which you can set yourself.

The app has custom timers, counters, and checklists that cater to all sorts of goals, from physical ones such as jogging to more sedentary activities like studying or reading for a certain amount of time. Hook it up to Apple HealthKit, and the app can even track metrics such as cycling distance, swimming distance, and wheelchair pushes.

You can also view your Habbie Pets on your Apple Watch or a widget on your phone’s home screen.

Completing your daily goal will reward you with a gift that contains food for your pet. On the flip side, take it easy for a day, and your pet will lovingly leave a pile of poop that’ll remain till you meet your goals.

On the other hand, Fito’s workout companion takes the form of a huggable pink bear. Don’t worry, unlike Lotso, this one won’t stab you in the back when you’re breaking PRs in the gym. Instead, he’s programmed with over 50 unique animations that’ll play when you accomplish certain milestones that you can tweak according to your needs.

He’ll jump for joy when you manage to squeeze in a workout sesh during the day, or sulk and weep when you skip your scheduled jog for a McDonald’s run. The app also has Apple Watch support, so your furry friend can issue you snarky reminders to sweat out the kilos. Finally, there’s also a built-in calorie counter that taps into AI to accurately track what you’re eating.

Gamified fitness app built by a local husband-wife duo

For a fitness app whose backstory is as cute as the little critters it features, look no further than Dojojojo. Conceived by local husband-wife duo Reynard and May Yee, they decided to channel their love for video and board games into a pet project that aims to make fitness fun.
5 months in, everything seems to be on track. The upcoming Dojojojo app sports a step tracker that turns the monotony of everyday walking into in-game progress by allowing you to incubate eggs that hatch into various pets. Details aren’t firmed up just yet, but according to their website, you’ll have to perform exercises, taking into account elemental matchups and card powers, in order to grow your pets.
Other features include AI pose-tracking to ensure that you’re not rushing through your reps but instead focusing on proper form, along with a meal tracker that helps scan food and note your macros. Although the app is still in the works, it’s projected to be released before the end of 2026, so keep your eyes peeled.
