There’s nothing like a hearty bowl of soup on a rainy day, but try this Japanese alternative at Haru. They serve up chazuke at $0.70* – a bowl of rice with toppings like aburi salmon and sake-soy marinated beef. For the Aburi Salmon Chazuke (U.P. $18), it comes with plenty of garnishings too like ikura, pickled cucumbers, and crisp tempura bits.

Contrary to its name, Big Sake Bar is a quaint Izakaya-style bar. But it sure has has a hefty sake menu. Pair a sake carafe or two with their sushi rolls – their Crunchy Aburi Roll (U.P. $18) is made up of seared salmon and dollops of mentaiko sauce and their Spider Roll (U.P. $20) has crunchy soft shell crab and wasabi mayo. 

They also do their grilled foods well so it’s worth trying their Grilled Unagi (U.P. $14) or Grilled Sirloin Steak (U.P. $35). Chef’s Special items are also up for the $0.70 promo, with dishes like Truffle Hamachi (U.P. $15) and Foie Gras with Edamame (U.P. $10)
