If movies like Tomorrowland and Skyscraper were reality, they’d look like Raffles Place’s glimmering new skyscraper, CapitaSpring. Think a 51-storey addition to our skyline with offices, serviced apartments, and a rooftop sky garden.
The best part is, some of their facilities and F&B stores are already open to the public, so you don’t necessarily need to be a resident or office worker in the building to enjoy them.
If you love the sky gardens on the National Library at Bugis, swing by CapitaSpring’s botanical promenade that’s perched 100M above the ground. The Green Oasis is an airy space that takes up levels 17 – 20 of the skyscraper. This spans 35M in height – roughly 10 storeys of your average HDB.
Perfect for those who’d pick shade over the scorching sun any day, this is an emulation of a park, with 38,000 plants from over 70 species planted around the space. Roam twisting aerial pathways to explore the whole of this new attraction.
What’s that sound we’re hearing? Ah, it’s the clicking of cameras. With plenty of Instagrammable corners, you know this is going to be a hotspot for snapping that next DP.
Scattered around the space are seating areas that include bird cage-like pods where you can tap away at emails, or mug with a study buddy for a day.
There are only a small handful of these pods, but when we headed there around lunchtime on a weekday, there were still some empty seats available.
Charging points are available at each pod, hidden underneath the seats.
Other workstations are also scattered around the rest of the garden.
Sol & Luna, a European restaurant located next to this garden, is also now open with both indoor and alfresco dining. Tuck into breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. There’s even high tea available, priced from a reasonable $28/person, alongside mocktails (from $8) and cocktails (from $16) you can sip on while overlooking the city below.
Read more about Sol & Luna in our article on new restaurants in 2022.
Even if you’ve neither work nor a high tea date planned out for the day, the Green Oasis offers a variety of other amenities for visitors to simply relax and unwind. Cushion seats are dotted across the garden, where you can sit back and enjoy the breeze.
Work a little bit of exercise into your visit at the mini-gym as well. A pull-up a day keeps those poppin’ biceps underway.
Opening hours:
Level 17: Mon-Fri 7.30AM-10.30PM (Closed on Saturday, Sunday and PH)
Level 18 – 20: Mon-Fri 7.30AM-6PM (Closed on Saturday, Sunday and PH)

Raising the bar for rooftops in Singapore is the building’s Sky Garden, located on the 51st floor. The observatory deck offers panoramic views of the area, all the way to Marina Bay. You can consider the views unbeatable as this is Singapore’s tallest publicly accessible observatory deck that offers 360-degree scenic views.

A small terrace featuring Singapore’s highest urban farm can also be found on the rooftop, growing edible plants such as turmeric, radish and spinach.
This rooftop will be open to the public in the second half of 2022.
Aesthetic gardens aside, you can expect to enjoy hawker fare in their upcoming Market Street Hawker Centre, opening in April 2022 with 56 stalls.

Couples looking to experience co-living can also now book a stay in the Citadines Raffles Place Singapore with studio and loft serviced apartments, as well as a 25M swimming pool.
Completing the futuristic touch are also smart cleaning robots and charging stations for electric cars within the building.
We may always be diving headfirst into the idea of “escaping Singapore” by looking for staycations with overseas vibes but the “concrete jungle” can be pretty cool – especially when it comes to buildings such as CapitaSpring that have tons of greenery.
